"Sorry for leaving you alone, but my time came to an end before yours. Cannot go against nature, as it is who I am. I hope you live the rest of your life in happiness.
Don't be sad for me, I have found some old friends that will keep me company until the day we can be together again. They feel my pain and your mourning but also have witness your devotion and loyalty for me until the end, through my sickness. They have also told me they were there the day we made our vows--the day we swore our love until death did us part. I admit, it is disheartening having kept the end of my vow much earlier than you'd wanted, but I have no doubts you will keep yours until your time comes.
The years we had together were the most marvelous and enjoyable I lived, and I wish for you to know that.
Farewell, my little riifling. Until the day death brings us together."
