heh for a different kind of story you wanted to tell as things started to progress. It's alright if you just aren't feeling it, if it's not fun, why bother? Don't feel bad about the time you used either, since you likely weren't sure if you truly hated the pirate genre until you gave it your shot. At the end of the day, you gotta write where the heart it, because that'll help you create the most shining stories you want to see.
