one can analyze the income numbers they also see by breakdown and realize that those sponsors and merch runs etc actually do make a lot more money than superchats etc. but the thing is those big sales of merch come from active, interested engaged fans. fans get less active and engaged when there are fewer girls they have to watch. trying to think of an analogy of the fallacy they're falling into but can't right now.
maybe something like, they wanna harvest more fruits aka yen by sprinkling more and more fertilizer into the soil. but they cut back on actually watering the fucking plants so they start to wither and suddenly their whole crop is lost when the plants hit the breaking point. there needs to be a balance of routines and streaming is like watering the fucking plants. they need to do it constantly and consistently or fucking everything WILL die.
