It's not all good of course. You probably won't like some of the members. The intergender stuff is annoying. Sometimes there is drama. But overall, I've found that this is where the heart and soul of vtubing is found right now.
Some common objections,
-- Isn't it all fujos?
Admittedly there are a lot of fujos. But they're mostly from asia, and are mostly watching during asian primetime. Western primetime has a pretty even gender balance.
-- Isn't it super far-left wing?
To be honest it seems like Nijisanji as a company is towards the left of center. But plenty of the EN talents are right-leaning. And politics is not on display in the streams, everything's apolitical.
-- What about this or that member I dislike?
Just watch what you want, you can pretty much ignore their existence. Tons of content to choose from in Nijisanji.
-- Lower numbers?
Yup, that's just how it is. They do well for themselves though, and they're gaining in popularity all the time.
I also wouldn't say that you should be Nijisanji-only and reject all other brands. Watch whatever you want, corporation doesn't matter. I will say that Nijisanji has some great vtubers. The best thing about them is probably their really fun friendship interactions, something that nobody else can really match.
Give them a shot, you might find something you like. I personally really like Millie. She's really chaotic and fun.
