From their perspective they just saw a lot of Starknights shitting on Clara and proudly doxxing her and reposting pipkun drawings of Clara and shit all over twitter.
On top of that you also have the fact that other vtuber communities vaguely have heard things about Phase being full of chuds over the years so subreddits like vtuberdrama and shit immediately get replies like "water found in the ocean" and "what do you expect, it's Phase fans".
