alright lets take apart Merryweather lecture
>1hour of useless ramblings
nothing of use here at all, so not even worth adressing, even more so since his situation from going as artist to vtubing is in no way relatable by NEXAS or vtubers as whoel really
>what to do when you encounter drama?
his take of trying to stay out of it and work it out behidn the scenes is valid but also not really what was asked. IF you actually encounter drama like how NEXAS did predebut, ignore it as long as its just nothingburgers and if it actually becomes something that can't be ignored and starts to affect you, adress it once in a clean and professional manner. don't be the chuuba that keeps throwing potshots on twitter or randomly make it the topic of your streams over and over, even if you are in the right it willl oly make you look petty and will only attract dramahungry people towards you
>how do you network
his advice is just straight up to go up to people and beg for follows and doing the wholle "follow for a follow" bit, thats such a shit advice i can't even fathom how you can say that with a straight face, what the fuck has it brought you Merry that some famous japannese artists follows you on twitter merry, huh? may as well advice to post engagement baits all day while you are at it. look for people that you think you might vibe with, go into people's chat and be active there, engange with them on twitter, be someone that they know before you even contact them and they have a positive connection to in their mind already, contact them and ask if they are interested in talking to get to know each other and maybe collab in the future.
>how do you manage your time etc.
"have a manager and outsource all work" what an advice. learn basic time management skills, make schedules, make timetables, look what you want to do, what you need to prepare beforehand, look what time you would roughly need for it and then set actual time aside for, its that simple
>males are usually debuffed, what can one do to fight that?
merry literily just talked fluff, no advice. be a normal fucking human and don't be a sexpest, thats usually a good start, accept that, yes you are debuffed and that won't go away no matter what and simply do you.
>how do you handle having many projects and ideas at the same time
one of the few cases he gave decent advice. keep track of what it is you want to do, sort them on what is a priority for you and your community and then simply take it step by step.
>when do you think its safe to go fulltime streaming
also decent advice. there really is no one universal answer, when you think you can either live from what you currently make even just the bare minimum to survive and give it a shot or safe up and give yourself a timeslot on how long you can go all out before you need to go back to earning money a different way.
>how do you decide on who to work with
started with decent advice and then just went into a stupid story of a guy that doesn't want to be emaile don the weekend. look for people that want to do what you want them to do and also just do some basic research into who you wanna work with and if they seem serious and reputable
>thoughts about chatbots for content
RIXXY FOR FUCKS SAKE PLS DON'T LISTEN TO PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET THAT CLEARLY DON'T HAVE GOOD INTENTION TOWARDS YOU AND YOUR COMPANY FROM THE START
>how to marathon stream
this i can't judge, sounded plausible.
>youtube or twitch
holy shit, this was the only time Merry actually was informative and precise with an answer, nothing to add really.
>how do you get in contact with bigger content creators
only stupid advice and meaningless stories, just treat them like people and don't drop your spaghetti, they are also humans otherwise just see networking above
>what not to do when starting out
only thing to take away from his first story is: even if your chat is empty, pay attention to it and actually respond to people when they chat so they got a reason to stay, put an overlay right over your mainscreen if need to
also don't just randomly post IRL pics of yourself, you are a vtuber
BE your avatar
>parasocial
part of his advice is good, don't favor some viewers over others, know to draw lines and interact with all your viewers equally.
the other part however is stupid and makes it seem like they can't interact with their viewers more closely. these chuubas are 1-2views and not bigger chuubas, people come to them BECAUSE it is a more closer and intimate experience, if you act behind 20 layers of distance then there is nothing for people to connect.
TL;DR outside of the youtube vs twitch information he gave, this whole stream is a waste of time and either is him telling stupid stories about himself that are of no value, give the most basic shit advice anyone with common sense could give you and worst of all advice contraproductive for actual small chuubas
