The clothing is always too garish for normal wear, then theres things like handbags, etc. It would make sense if the audience was 80% teenage to young adult women, instead of 20-35 year old men.
Things like keychains, even stickers at least are usable. But I think there's a big loss of revenue from vtubers making their merch things that /they/ would want instead of what their audience would want.
Practical items with subtle design elements would be much better. A baseball cap instead of a bucket hat. Have the design of the shirt be much smaller, only being a doodle at the bottom of the front of the shirt, with maybe the oshi marks on the upper back.
Also not being $75 for a hoodie would help
