Filian, do you want parasocial audience members, or do you want callous content consumers who at best tolerate you and just laugh when you hurt yourself?
Obviously there's some kind of a line between the two, but let's be so for real here - in any content creation space and especially one that fosters incredibly direct communication and interaction, you either shut down parasocials hard, or you accept them.
Yeah, it's an unfair choice if you angle it a certain way, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Which, by the way, airtight opsec = forbidden fruit = Tier 4 catnip. The illusion draws in more and weirder parasocials. Look at Robert Pattinson and how he dealt with his stalker for a short example in how to break the illusion (though he's an actor, so I'm unsure how transferable it is, but it's worth looking into).
For an example of "No, for real though, you can open up a little", look at Layna and Juniper Actias - they've just straight up done face cams pretty regularly, and people seem pretty normal about that.
So, back to that whole "cultivating your audience" bit.
People have feelings, interests and opinions. Shocker, right?
I'm sure you do too.
You have spent four and a half years flip-flopping back and forth on whether you essentially love or hate chat, and if you'll let them love you.
People have grown sick and tired of it, and now you are left with short-term consumers who do not care about the girl behind the avatar.
To be very extreme, it's like you spent your whole career alternately abusing and giving affection to your dog (chat), and now you're crying crocodile tears about how they won't engage with you (give serious boyfriend applications for example), or care about you as a person. You won't let them, and you mock/ban them for it most of the time, and reject it outright.
I don't know what the fuck kind of issues you have, girl, but I hope this can be at least a start in showing you the path forward.
