Question 1: Your gender and age
Answer 1
Gender: Female Age: Late 20s
Question 2: What acts of defamation did you commit?
Answer 2
I made repeated, persistent comments on the YouTube streams of your affiliated live streamer, Haru Kaida, as well as on official streams and other live streamers.
I used illustrations of your affiliated live streamer, Haru Kaida, without permission from X (formerly Twitter), impersonating Haru Kaida and disrupting his streams, and attached images and videos to X. I also abused hashtags used by Haru Kaida and other live streamers in their streams to spread grotesque and horror images and videos through multiple X accounts.
I posted messages on X threatening to harm a live event venue for your affiliated live streamer, Haru Kaida's unit "VΔLZ."
Question 3: What was your reason for trolling and threatening harm?
Answer 3 :
Because the distance between streamers and listeners is relatively close in this community, I unilaterally tried to close the gap between myself and my favorite live streamer. Behind this was a strong desire for approval and daily stress, which left me in a mentally unstable state. I now deeply regret my actions and realize that if I had sought psychiatric treatment or stopped watching his streams at that time, I would not have had to deal with these problems.
Question 4: Were you aware that your actions constituted slander and could result in criminal or civil liability?
Answer 4 :
I was vaguely aware at the time I committed the acts that constituted slander and threats of harm and that I could be held liable both criminally and civilly. However, due to the mental instability caused by the stress of everyday life, I lost that awareness and was unable to stop my actions. I deeply regret my lack of awareness in this regard.
Question 5: How did you feel while trolling and threatening harm?
Answer 5 :
Seeing Kaida Haru, other live streamers, and Nijisanji listeners confused and uncomfortable, I harbored despicable emotions that I now realize were despicable. Specifically, I felt a mixture of extremely twisted emotions, including amusement and the abnormal need for approval that live streamers were responding to me. However, I now deeply understand how my actions at the time were hurtful to others, and can calmly conclude that I would feel extremely uncomfortable if I saw such a scene.
Question 6: When you engaged in trolling or threatened harm, did you consider how the target live streamers and fans would feel?
Answer 6:
At the time, I was driven by my own out-of-control desire for recognition, and only thought about the spread of the content of my posts. I completely lacked the imagination to realize that I was deeply hurting the target live streamers and fans, and causing them so much trouble. I now painfully realize how reckless and irresponsible my actions were, and I deeply regret it.
Question 7: As a result of your slanderous and libelous actions, you were held responsible by our company, and what state did you find yourself in?
Answer 7
At some point, I began receiving regular disclosure request opinions, and then letters from your company. I felt a strong sense of anxiety and regret, worried that I was causing trouble for my family. I began to feel afraid of even using X (formerly Twitter). Even though my trolling and threats of harm were wrong, I fell into a blaming mentality, blaming social media. Furthermore, after seeing your official X announcement that criminal charges had been filed against someone who had threatened harm at a live event venue, and that a complaint had been filed and accepted by the local police station, I was overcome with intense anxiety, wondering when the police would arrive and whether I would be detained. Until the police actually arrived, I frequently checked outside to see if there were any police vehicles parked in front of my house, and spent my days browsing legal websites and websites about the procedures for being arrested by the police.
Question 8: Looking back on what you did, how do you feel about it?
Answer 8
: When I think about the mental anguish my actions have caused Haru Kaida, other live streamers, and Nijisanji listeners over the past two years, I feel overwhelming regret. I deeply regret what I have done to everyone, and I offer my deepest apologies.
