>>70668661Wait... won't this allow the average Joe to short sell? If I understood something from the gamestop arc is that in order to short sell you first have to borrow a share with the promise of returning it at some point in the future + a fee, if you are allowed to borrow shares then you could borrow anykara stock and sell it today, wait until the stock nose dives after the financial report, if the price indeed crashes then you buy back the share you borrowed at a lower price, give back that share to the lender and pocket the difference between what you paid as a fee vs what you got from selling the share at day 0.
If everyone is thinking of doing the same it could make the stock crash hard, in fact the more people that think about doing this the more sells will be made and the harder the price will crash, and the harder it crashes the higher the profit for the ones doing the short selling, so it's on the interest of the investors to do this as hard as they can, I don't understand what's Riku's plan with this... unless he wants to "do a gamestop" but I doubt he has the money to pump the price enough after the crash.... but maybe he won't need to pump the price above day 0, after all everyone will have to buy back the shares at some point, that means that he could buy them at pennies at the lowest point, wait until the price bouces back due to everyone buying back the shares to give them to the lenders and make a profit from the stock getting more value... but Idk if it's worth the risk
