For practice, what I did was watch VODs and try to think of a joke everytime something happened while having the video paused.
It doesn't have to be very funny, all that matters is that you can turn something ordinary into something absurd.
You just have to get past the first phase where most of your jokes are not very clever. I think most people give up at that part.
Horror games (for practising) are a great starting point, because they take themselves way too seriously, despite already being absurd in concept.
There is more to it, like understanding boundaries and reading the mood to avoid pissing your audience off, but when you watch VODs, you can go anywhere you want since you're the only judge.
