>>10910373If she came here for this site's fucking intended purpose, anime/japanese culture, I don't think it's that bad. In the mid-early 00s you had no other options besides here or literally Gaia which was probably like 30% 10 year olds. For in-depth discussion, tracking anime as they aired by the season etc there was nothing remotely like /a/ out there in the English internet, you HAD no other good option. We ran the subs scene directly off /a/ before CR became a thing (it used to be a shitty pirate site like any other), we ran this shit. Reddit didn't fucking exist at all. If you're from the actually-young days of the site even Youtube didn't exist yet. 4chan is pretty fucking old as far as the internet goes.
Any girl in like her 30s now who loved anime going back to early 00s very very likely was eventually directed to here and may have stuck. It's not that bad or heinous especially considering how innocent/childish most of 4chan outside /b/ was.
However, a girl here for anything other than /a/ and under such graces/exemptions is probably an auto red-flag to me. Maybe I can see someone from like /v/-/co/ (girls do occur there too) as being a cool person but also don't see that type as likely to become a vtuber. Maybe they would now hoping to get famous but who knows how long that'll go.
