Okay, someone asked are we overestimating Ai's reach? I don't think so. Her contributions are more cultural and normie reach than as a streamer, because that wasnt really the meta back then. Nowadays things are bigger, but they're also more spread out so no one chubba reigns supreme in all categories.

The return buff was really diminished by how many there were this year.
Shion, Lulu, Shiba, Aki and Mel didn't have it much or at all.
Only Ayame during the summer and Haachama really had it, and for Chammers it was more because people were gathering thinking it could be a graduation announcement, then dispersed.

2-3k higher than the last one (on Ame? channel). Not much of a buff considering Gura usually doubles or triples Ame's average viewers. Most of the Gura-only casuals are being filtered because they haven't followed the whole series and it's the 10k diehard fans of the TTRPG series and a few thousands stragglers on Gura's end. In terms of CCV and whatnot, nothing will ever match q4 2020 for Myth ever again. The perfect storm of Debut + first big Corpo En Vtuber + Covid lockdowns...for them to reach heights of that level would require a confluence of events outside of their control.
In terms of reaching a wider audience and being more well known? Well....it's not impossible, but that's something that takes time and whatnot, when they haven't even fully consolidated their current gains.

So Lazulight debut and almost a month to the day, Nijisanji announced Wave 3/4 audition.

IRyS has no reason to reject a 3D debut since she isn't stuck with a group spread all over the world and unable to report for performance. Everything is easily justifiable with the correct marketing. Cover just doesn't know what proper marketing is...

In a way, many fans would be expecting her to get 3D because she's the Vsinger sooner than later. Some even thought that she would debut with 3D already. However, Irys is still growing her fanbase and is really really young as a Vsinger. She doesn't even have a full setlist to even do a 3D concert on her own channel unless she sings covers. I won't be surprised though if Myth and Irys already have a 3D in the works. We will have to see. Fucking HoloStars man all got 3D.

NTA, but in my experience, no matter what your intention might be, showing any sort of treatment at work that can be interpreted as unjustified and unfair can be ground for drama. I'm not talking about outsiders / fans, I'm talking about the employees / Holos themselves. It's not like it's unprecedented either - they already have Pekora pulling a menhera act and stopped streaming for a week after her project proposal got rejected, while (according to Pekora) some other Holos' similar projects were accepted. EN-wise, there is at least Kiara who passive aggressively complained about a bunch of stuffs, too.
Last thing Cover need is another Holo complaining, yet how can they make sure that every other EN members will be fine if IRyS gets her 3D first (even with the logistic explanation)? It's better safe than sorry, and that's why it's unlikely for IRyS to get her 3D before Myth (unless somehow it looks like Covid restrictions for the vaccinated aren't going to end within the next 5-6 months, which is neither the case in Japan nor NA)

Lazulight is already good for 3D, but there are still a lot of older Livers that have not yet gotten their 3Ds, so Lazulight is at the very end of the line. Unless Anykara wants to prioritize them for a special EN event or something (but I assume the older Livers will be pissed they got passed over for the newbies)

Yes another studio would be a good idea, but one of the big reasons there's such a booking backlog is because cover are so careful about number of people in the studio that they schedule every worker and talent that uses it which delays everything around when all the relevant people can be available.

There's even precedent for a single member of a group getting 3D well before their peers, Rikka. He got a 3D debut like a year before the rest of the stars so he could do music performances. Maybe they could spin it that way if IRyS got invited to some big vtuber concert but the EN fanbase are so schizo over myth getting it they'd whine no matter what.

Rikka is a first gen Holostar, right? Irys is absolutely not a first gen HoloEN.
Irys isn't going to want to take the first EN 3d live from Myth, it'll cause controversy and potential hard feelings and you don't want that kind of cloud hanging over what should be a celebratory event. She doesn't even have enough songs for a good concert anyway (not to mention the fact that her music career is trailing her streaming one in relative popularity) so what's the rush?

Well, they're fools to think that they 'saved' Hololive, but HoloEN definitwly moved ahololive from "strong competitor to Nijisanji" to "Global leader in V-tubing". It also helped them weather the Taiwan yab a lot better than they could otherwise, but speculating on that is a bunch of "what ifs".

They should have tried to replicate monthly cover/OG song model of Mori. But I guess she's just too strong, you apparently can't even replicate her with a whole team. Mori is as much an aberration musically as Gura is on the streaming side.

To add to this, there are more cogs in the music production process for IRyS. She can only provide the vocals and have to rely on other parties for backing track, lyrics, mixing, and MV. Meanwhile Mori does her own lyrics and MV (most of the time) on her own.
This saves A LOT of time of communication between sides (lyricist and composer, lyricist and IRyS, IRyS and composer, and finally IRyS and MV maker). Add Japanese work + communication autism to that and you get a far slower pace that IRyS has no control over even if she has full creative control by funding everything herself.

I blame the incompetency of management. While I am not the biggest fan of HERE COMES HOPE (both version of Caesura of Despair are better imo), many people loved the song. The fact that it did not receive a MV in the debut week is a travesty imo. They chose to trade the digital sales for less hype / exposure on youtube, and it hampered her numbers.
Meanwhile look at Mori with Your Mori. Basically the same as IRyS with Caesura of Despair EP, but the major difference is how she already secured the biggest / 2nd biggest (below Suisei) music fanbase in Hololive. Couple that with the fact that TGRIALS and Bully both received above average MV, the two songs did better than most Hololive originals which have MV at release. This is the power of an established fanbase which was the result of Mori having all 4 of her songs in the first EP premiered with a MV during debut week.
