The Cell arc was great, Cell was one of if my favourite villain in the show. I remember watching a couple of episodes of GT before giving up on it.

So I had the idea of Tiger being based on farmer Spencer and when summoned she will appear to drop AKAs. This later proved to be more complicated than expected and had to be reworked since I ended up hitting tiger almost every thread as more entries were needed to find a new hatch.

On the other hand, I did had a no Tsunderia rule in place but I believe Slugma is as much part of /wvt/ culture as she is of /tsun/ so might as well include her. She would be hit several times afterward so it proved to be the right choice.

Hello, /wvt/. I want to ask questions, but honestly... do you think my questions are helpful? Is there a way to make discussion organic? There was a thread where I asked about costume or character designs and it really triggered discussion! The entire thread started talking about cool ideas and designs and we got history lessons on certain looks. But most of my posts do not encourage much discussion and I worry it may be my approach. Sometimes I feel replying to people does more hard than good since I tend to type so much.

it's kinda hard to make a questionnaire feel organic in the best of cases, but it's fine if it doesn't feel organic if it's something people genuinely want to answer anyway. If you see a conversation going on and have a question that can relate to it, that's probably the best way. Either way, honestly I don't think it's bad if there's not a whole lot of back and forth. Just hearing a lot of people voice their opinions on something and then going back to their day can be nice in its own way. If you worry you type too much just include a tl;dr at the end I suppose.

Maybe the fact that your questions are multi-faceted and formal like a survey is the reason why it's not as organic as regular off the cuff questions. You want to be more thoughtful when answering them since Anons like getting replied to you, which sometimes makes the messages longer which in turn makes your responses longer. It's a bit like a queue for getting your threadly Ayylium reply instead of bouncing off thoughts and ideas amongst different Anons.

Alright... Then maybe less questions? I used to ask like 10 questions. Then 7. Then 5. Now I try not to ask more than 3... In the last few days I just asked one, but I am not sure what the sweetspot is. I am also sort of encouraged to reply to everyone since I was criticized for not replying more in the beginning, but I end up feeling up the thread with just me talking and it makes me self conscious. I was hoping anons would see people's answers and reply to them about what interests them. And some anons do. But rarely.

I think it's just a thing where most people like to answer questions but not necessarily elaborate on them. Like I've seen this a billion times on another board, someone will ask something like "what was your favorite scene in this movie" or "what songs make you feel [x] emotion" and people will respond but they won't respond to each other if that makes sense.

You're really good about responding to answers, so I'm more prone to put in time trying to give good ones since I know they're being read. If I haven't been keeping up with the thread and I see your questions while scrolling through I'll often read the answers and your responses. I try to never ask chuuba-related questions. I am not interested in chuuba answers, so questions about things like that do not interest me. I am more interested in people's preferences or their thoughts on chuuba behavior. Chuubas can go to asp or similar to ask questions like that, or they can ask the thread directly if they are in need of advice. But when I think up question themes, I try to think about things that viewers might have strong opinions about or maybe questions I feel no one ever asks directly to give them a chance to talk about it.

In the moment discussions about live vtubers is something that is sorely missing from common conversation. Like, right now Clau is doing a puzzle box; why not talk about the rarity of hand-based RL content? Just a quick example; things like that that pull up thoughts to the forefront.

For me, I don't think it's about the questions being "helpful" or not, I just like chatting with you and it's far better for me here than, say, while you were streaming. Not sure if that's what you were looking for with the questions though.
I think the trick with making discussions organic is to present a topic that anyone can chime in on, rather than just making questions that can be answered in a rote manner.
At the end of the day though, trying to "make something more organic" is a bit of an oxymoron, since organic discussion will crop up on its own no matter what. I think your best bet is to focus on discussions *you* find interesting, and give them room to grow and spiral away on their own.

I think it's charming and helps identify you, which is nice for me at least. It shows your passion and chattiness and it makes me want to keep talking with you.

Oh, anon... Why not try to talk about more you love here? I have started posting about the streams I am watching in the thread like anons used to do. It does not always help, but sometimes I see the streamer's view count go up a bit or I see another anon join in and it feels a bit like it used to.

vocaroo time!! this sentence is a common acting warm-up, you can change the meaning of the sentence depending on which word you stress, try using different emotions as you read it, like angry, upset, confused, amused, etc.

if you want to "collab," respond to someone else's vocaroo with your own, emphasizing a different word than they did, and replace I/my with you/your, i.e. "you never said she stole your money," like it's a little scene!!

I've been linking off to streams I've been watching lately. It just seems unless the chuuba is already a favorite there's just no response in the best case... It doesn't feel like what I remember.

desu lore is probably the least interesting part about vtubing to me and I usually skip it completely, mostly because it's almost always just an infodump. Lore might be fun as little references that pop up from time to time or as flavor. The vtuber who did keyfabe the best is still Kizuna Ai, and the only time she dipped her toes into lore was with the clone saga that was universally agreed on to be a terribly performed arc, or Black Ai as a joke. Outside of that she was always just an AI that wanted to connect people, and that was enough to keep her going for over five years. The best comparison would be Melody who is basically the same thing, but she did the whole lore video thing that I clicked away not even five seconds in and did nothing to change my perception of her, nor seemed to be relevant ever again.

If you can make an engaging gimmick out of it that stays relevant throughout your streams, sure. But I usually don't see that being the case.

but yeah, having less stream-specific questions is a good point. i think some of the best discussion i've seen is when an anon posted eggy's tweet about mainstream media's poor coverage of vtubing. it turned around the idea of a viewer podcast from just a shitpost into Viewertown. not all discussions will lead to something like that, but questions considering vtubing as a whole like that are obviously very interesting

Hello friends. My PNG is done and is being rigged now. I hope to do some test streams soon in the meantime but I got tests and work keeping me busy. I know it's furry, but the artist and I worked to make it more on the realistic side instead of deviantart weird color cartoon blob. Hopefully it's not too offensive to the eyes. I understand if someone wouldn't want to stare at a furry model. Right now I'm trying to nail down audio. NVIDIA Broadcast works amazingly and filters out pretty much all the bad, but it also filters out nuance in voices as well. I think some people actually like keyboard noises that aren't too which would get filtered out. Do you like a little room ambiance?

Show, not tell, is definitely the way to go. Theatrical presentation of sorts would work for a lore-based stream, if there's a zatsu/singing/puppeteering/interactive element going on that takes it above just "powerpoint presentation". PPTs work better when you're going to absolutely rip into something or exalt its praises, and you want your points concise and understandable.

I used to, too. For the first three months or so, I would get really overwhelmed and panic after ending. I was convinced people would get bored and stop watching after every stream. So I said, "well, I can just do what I want and when the end comes, it comes!" and here I am. So even though it gets hard, anon, try to go at it earnestly and enjoy yourself as much as you can while you can. It helps when you have people who can help fight against your brain worms, but if not, post things that makes you proud or your reps if it is hard to trust yourself. I want to try and be here for people who have been here for me, even if I do have trouble keeping up with communication a lot.

Depends on the complexity. Bucketing one off the template doesn't take nearly that long... As with most projects, the more you add the longer it will take. Just depends on the number and complexity of special features.

The existence of the template made recolor wigglies obsolete. Now people expect a bit more.
I am even thinking about redoing my first ones because they are too simple. The nina wiggly was the first of his kind but now compared to others looks a bit lackluster.

Imposter syndrome can really get to a person, I feel ya. I'm just a viewer but I know from experience that those self-defeating brainworms make it hard to put anything out there and even if you can push through that the second I want to try something different I can just hear all the voices in the back of my head saying "ok THIS time it'll fall apart." I know it's not Monday but it's really frustrating to want to just do something for yourself but also be menhera enough to think doing that will upset people that expect more out of you (regardless of whether that's true or not.)

YES! This is the feeling, and it gets so overwhelming. It feels like you are fighting with yourself. You have to force yourself to do it because you do not get the natural motivation, but your brain is telling you it will fail or you will alienate others, and it all makes you not even want to try. Viewer or not, we all have those internal battles we face. I wish I knew how to fix it, but maybe it gets better over time.

Room ambience proper is too much, like fans and obnoxious air conditioners and things. Mouse clicks and keyboards, especially mechanical, are fine, if not overpowering in volume. Definitely make room alterations, like sound dampeners to avoid excess reflective noise and echoey nonsense, before cranking filters so hard as to make your voice a flat blob. Once that's good, yeah, dick around with filters, but feel free to let keyboard and mouse noises through.
Just one viewer opinion. >we are here for YOU, and anything that screws up the "you"ness is no good.

Thanks, friend. Luckily I got a dynamic mic which has done a pretty good job filtering out most of the bad stuff like reverb on its own. I think I've hit a pretty good balance so far and just need some minor adjustments. I've been trying to get a desser to work without flattening the audio. I won't go too hard into the subject since this stuff is more /asp/ territory. Thank you though.

Technical discussions are definitely fine here too, friendo. There's no point in limiting discussion avenues here, since this is an intersection point of viewers, chuubas, and (often) viewers-turned-chuubas, so there's multiple angles that feedback can come from.
In fact, technicals about behind-the-scenes things can help even established chuubas that are looking for steps in upgrading their already-existing setup, definitely not just applicable to freshly-minted or aspiring chuubas.
