And everytime she has an APEX tournament, oh boy, that sinks her numbers low!

Goes to show that the main strength from Hololive is not the brand but the **active** "box pushing" and staying out of the box is enough to prevent an incline even being in the same brand.

Here is Ollie, running in the same direction. Ollie had a huge surge of interest in her "chess / anituber / math" period but it clearly didn't convert into long term audience.
It seems that the second "regular programming" returned they bailed never to return and lost her even some of her former regular audience.

It seems clear that not "getting into the robot" is not a viable strategy for Holos, the whole strength of the brand can't push a girl forward without her active intervention (and the one of her peers)

At this point, I doubt that Ollie will ever usurp Moona as the Queen of ID. Kinda disappointing since she had so much momentum going for her and that in the early days, a lot of people here actually considered her as a better Kiara. The zombie better hope that cover doesn't make use of it's black magic again and hires another breakout star for ID that actually knows how to properly utilize Hololives box pushing strats.

Remember when Mori got a ton of shit for wanted to break out of the “bubble”? For all the shit posts aside from sponsored streams and TT collabs which have an obvious corporate component she collabed with Iron Mouse, Milky, BGV… am I missing any? Most of those were well received. Ollie focuses a lot more energy outside of Hololive than Mori ever did.

Mori listened to her fans and started putting more effort in Holo collabs from what I remember. Her fans lashed out at her at some point earlier this year.
Most people really only had an issue with TT/Gigguk being the only collabs at the time where she showed enthusiasm.
Milky is a real life friend of hers and BGV are musicians. Don’t think anyone really hates mousey other than general vshojo haters.

Part of the issue is to succeed as a *checks notes* wigger anime Jrapper who doesn’t actually speak fluent Japanese requires an almost stupid level of stubbornness and belief in yourself. That also makes it hard for them to take criticism sometimes: they’ve spent years ignoring people telling them they are idiots. But the Gura Cuphead stream was a big turning point I think. Even her T3s were annoyed she was ignoring their advice like: the speed of light exists. But to her credit she now has S tier music and superchats and is now a solid A tier streamer in terms of hours and ccv. Now when she collabs with Milky or BGV no one bats an eye since she’s earned a ton of goodwill back.

Speaking of Anime's, weren't there alot of Animes cancelled or moved MONTHS later because of the vaarus? That was when i found Vtubers, i knew they existed and all, but i wasnt fond of the Idea, thought thought they were Kizuna Ai copycats. but Pekora was a trip, havent looked back to Anime sinxe then, only a handful. Nothing will replace high quality animation. And shounen has much less overlap. But low effort slice of life that has 12 episodes a season is going to have a hard time competing with a the sheer volume of content vtubers put out. It also emphasizes how important interactions and narratives are to enjoying vtubers especially Hololive. Mori alone has a couple of arcs tailor made for an idol/SOL anime. I grew to respect Mori more after the whole VSinger thing where she actively avoided collabing with Milky during the VSinger auditions since she was worried that it'd affect Management's decision. As someone who ended up liking IRyS a lot, I'm glad that Mori didn't force her friends to that spot. I also hope that she advises Council to follow that same thought process during EN 3 auditions. Especially Kronii with Yuria.

By the time the EN3 auditions start, they'd all have a few months under their belt. As things are now, Kronii being the most subbed and watched council can maybe throw her weight around if she wanted to get someone in. Not strong enough to ensure a spot mind you since Gura, Ina and maybe Mori are probably the only ones who that have that level of clout inside management, but just enough to overturn a decision between 2 chuubas with one being a tad better than the other but not completely dominant

That being said Hololive usually wants people with a strong skill and a niche to exploit. Sana is exactly that even if she happens to be Ina's choice. Is it really nepotism in Sana's case if she fits the bill?
I'm still not sure about Mumei though since she doesn't seem to do anything but fill out the roster with some redundant talent. It may have just been a flier on her PL assuming she might be able to replicate success.

Truth is APEX peaked in August and has fallen off significantly since then. Total hours watched is literally down by half. It’s not a debuff or anything but it’s definitely lost viewer interest. No, Yagoo worked because the community turned it into a meme, not the chuubas. Haachama made pixel art of yagoo in minecraft and the other holos reacted to it. This became a watershed moment for the community and they started making memes about him, which then got fed back into the streams, most prominently during meme review, which then inspired more content and so on. Yagoo only recently embraced his meme status, like March of this year recently.

But I guess I could understand about the whjole outspoken part. The bug spammers ensure that to be an enduring characteristic in the EN vtuber community. They unironically increase support for Taiwan from a demographic that usually wouldn't have an opinion one way or another.
