>>1477602Oh, there certainly were narratives back then, but you're right, nobody cares anymore and back then Suisei was the least subscribed Holo. A big part though is that Suisei never really let slip anything that might get milked, so all the narratives seem to have been based on pure guesswork and analyzing her manager's (lack of) Twitter activity. Instead, she has since then ended up disproving pretty much all of the narratives from then in some passing sentence or zatsudan answer and the only thing she has really pointed at were dumb corporate rules. People love to hate on the frog, and part of it is probably justified, but it honestly might be a case of higher-ups making stupid rules the managers have to follow.
>>1478071Yeah, originally it seems to have been a major victory for Cover, since it was a joint project with Upd8, which at the time was a major force on the scene. Of course, now that Upd8 is bankrupt, it is pretty easy to say you should never let Upd8 management touch anything, but back then, it was a really good idea on paper. And honestly there might still be value in branding gamers, singers and whatelse slightly differently rather than have everyone appear as a giant mass of effectively similar variety streamers. Although at the same time that might go against the whole "big happy family" thing which seems to have been a surprisingly major part of Hololive's success.
>>1477888She had to do quite a bit of tardwrangling last spring and probably later too when the explosive growth happened. There was one instance where Kaida Haru mentioned Suisei in an innocent enough tweet about her Tetris skills and was bullied by Hoshiyomi to delete the tweet and Suisei failed to react to that. I would otherwise ignore it as drama for the day that everyone forgot when the next one came along, but I've actually seen it brought up past two months on both Futaba and 4chan. Bullying someone to delete a tweet is absolutely retarded stuff of course, but at the same time I have to wonder at people who still remember something like that from almost a full year ago, so I don't know if there is an active list on some anti thread or other reminding people of chuubas' past failures. Could be she gets a periodic reminder from some JP site or another.
>>1478124The application seemed to seek more Suisei types than AZki types. My guess is that it's a mix of Mori's musical success and wanting to strike while the iron is hot and NijiEN still not properly established. They probably felt a new proper generation would be too soon, but we shall see.
