There's a reason why SJW shit never took off in japan, why trans people are not recognised as anything other than mendoksai mental illness havers, and why gays and lesbians can't marry. Japan is traditional when it comes to social values but they also don't care about what you do in private. That's why despite being a conservative country, they've never killed anyone for being gay like in the west. As long as you keep it to yourself and don't bother anyone or try to change society to suit you, they don't care what you do by yourself or with your friends.
As long as you can fulfill your responsibilities to society, no one wants to know what you're up to. This is also the reason why possession of CP wasn't made illegal in Japan until 2014. The Japanese just don't think it's any of their business what other people do in private. They don't want to know.
