In the case of Kanata's song, they obviously went hard on pitch correction as an intentional effect. But their voices are clearly audible and prominent as should be without being glaring. The synths fit together. There is depth in the mix. The drums are clearly some cheap vst but that's not really something the mixer can do anything about besides making it softer.
When you talk about not 'hearing the voice past the mix', it calls to mind cases more like the Matsuri-Gura Sorairo Days cover when the vocals are just getting pushed around by the drums and bass like a boat in a storm instead of being front and center. That's not what is happening here.
