I don't know what you're trying to argue still, and the only point i was trying to make from the start is that any expectations you have from a donation are on you, because it being a donation implies you forfeit that money to another person who will then use that money for their own goals. Those goals may align with yours and that's why you give that money, you may be donating that money as a pseudo payment for services they provided for free previously, or because they remind you of your mother or whatever. In all of these cases the money is now theirs to do what they want with it.
Yes, they will know that you gave them that money because of x thing since that is what the donation was linked to and so they are more likely to put that money to use in things related to x, but it's still up to their discretion.
I might still be "skirting the point", but if so it's because i legitimaly don't know ehat you are trying to argue.
