Look at this graph, this is the distribution for Platinum and Diamond, what do you see? the people that are on P4 and D4 don't deserve to be in Platinum/Diamond, they don't have the knowledge/mechanics to climb, so there's TONS of people stuck in those ranks
Now, unfortunately for solo players, you get queued with them pretty frecuently, so, if you want to climb you have to
>A) literally get lucky>B) lessen the hit by bringing in someone that might not be as good as you but at least is not a random from the bottom pool>C) bring two people to do the same as B but more effectiveTLDR: Get at least 1 (one) person that you know it can't be worse than a Platinum player
