This thread/site is a hobbyist discussion forum at heart, but it's got insane people here and you know that already. If you think you're talking to someone that will never give you anything reasonable, then do yourself a favor and drop the guy, just move on to the next person to talk to in the thread. No point in dealing with an insane person when there's a lot of people who aren't that you could talk to, instead.
People like to say "diamond in the rough" when it comes to finding good discussion here, but it's really closer to "you can find it, if you can avoid the landmines that lurk here all day and seek people to go off on."
Now back to lurking. Lots of stuff in archives, too, if you wanna figure out the foundational stuff.
