>>1722050That's kind of what she always was, she is a singer and was basically the original vsinger, and was originally of a different affiliation until recently, hence the redebut with a new model, Youtube memberships etc.
My assumption is they edited her role/overall scope a bunch to redefine what a "vsinger" officially is in Cover's own terms, to be more compatible with more typical Hololive activities/members in order to make the EN vsingers more likely to be a success. If the EN vsingers basically just released songs once every few weeks/months and almost never did anything else people would be probably annoyed and complaining that they're a waste etc, and presumably if they were allowed to be more of regular streamers if they wanted that'd only make a lot more money for Cover.
Since AZKi came about in 2018, while Cover was still figuring out its operations and it wanted to do/be, they simply updated the program. This is similar to how Holo "Gen 0" isn't a formal gen at all but a mishmash of various early things informally lumped together, really they're the pre-Gen gen, Miko was originally not a Holo and her own project etc but they grouped it all up under the Hololive banner.
