>>1772048>opinions?I'm not a fan of hers, but the hate she gets seems to be way over the top and this is exactly the kind of thing I didn't want to happen as a result. It's sad to see someone try (for better or worse) and then get excessive flack from people doing it for fun and reasons that are unnecessary. Sadly this video is just going to vindicate the antis, so it was ill advised even if she needed to get it off her chest.
I haven't watched her since early on and I hope she has improved, but the main complaint I had about her when she started was her trying to jump on every holomeme band waggon going. The proverbial throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks. It's artificial, inauthentic and it came across as crazed and delusional and made her look desperate. She was trying to emulate everyone else in order to fit in and sadly those who are desperate to fit in, often stand out the most. She tried to jump into everyone else's shoes and didn't develop an identity of her own.
There are other cringe moments that I know of like taking a poop joke too far or interjecting in someone else's time in the spot light, but these are minor.
There are a few areas I could see her focusing on to improve.
Firstly her design and theme was always over complicated. The sentai stuff is a non starter; I don't know if she's ever used it, but the sword shield and badge should be outright jettisoned. The whole fast food thing is garbage; her holding drumsticks looks silly and the greasy fast food theme doesn't fit an idol image. She should lean a lot less into the whole KFP thing or just move on from it. The silly chef hat can go. Ditch the fake yuribait too, it's fake and cringe.
The theme she should be focusing on is entirely the phoenix one. Apart from all the bird and fire puns, it's the perfect excuse for trying new schticks and reinventing herself through the death and rebirth theme and could have excused a lot of the desperate holomeme pandering she tried early on. It also means she can play with her characterisation depending on the theme of any game she plays. Play yakuza, be a gangster; play a shooter, be a soldier; play minecraft, be an architect (ironically, she'd be doing what Pekora does so well). As far as characterisation goes, it's a golden ticket.
Being bi/tri-lingual is an incredible strength in a company with such a huge language barrier and she was absolutely right to capitalise on it; having said that, a collab between two people shouldn't be focussing on her own narrative. No more pekora yuri bait ass kissing when Pekora put a lot of effort into trying to be a good tour guide, no more crying on stream in front of the JP (subaru) hosting you who has absolutely nothing to do with your own drama; no more shit questions like "what colour panties are you wearing". If someone is being a guide, let them lead the show; if you are interviewing someone, let them talk meaningfully; the fastest way to get someone to like you is to get them to talk about themselves willingly.
