>>20058617>So good chiropractors are basically physical therapists?I'm biased, but yes. He ain't gonna fix your diabetes, depression (well, maybe) or jaundice, but if you're having posture & bone issues he'll be able to stave off an operation if you adjust your shit following the treatment.
A lot of them are hucksters but it IS a legitimate practice.
Bones and ligaments are very resilient (how many people have you heard of that just snapped the Achilles heel because they happened to be over 60... exactly; it happens but it's ultra rare) but only to a point.
When you reposition that shit your issues are basically going to be rolled back to 5 -15 years ago. They'll deteriorate again if you don't adjust but it's a VERY VERY *VERY* valuable tool and I still regret not learning this stuff when I had the chance.
>>20058780Well put.
A lot of sports people have chiropracter training. If some sportsball player fucks up this is a very good way of ensuring they're 8 weeks earlier back on the field.
Massage, electrotherapy, rehabilitation training, rest.
It's actually a bit funny when you think about it.
The way muscles, tendons and bones operate make it really hard to advance beyond the mid 20th century because it's *too* robust so various magic pills just don't leave an impression.
The most advanced non-surgical (which is crude as fuck when you boil it down) procedure we have is injecting aspirin into the joint or using electricity to pull lidocain & aspirin into muscle tissue.
Sorry for the rant. I'm drunk.
