The JP crew were surprised at how much freedom the EN crew has behind the scenes. However they were not able to list an example, which suggest this is entirely cultural. That the EN team were never treated like idols to begin with and had no expectations. So if that holds true for EN hHolosar I expect very different things from them compared to the JP counterparts.

A big deal seem to be that the EN teams are left on their own to fail or succeed on their own terms. That they get their own plans and that there is less of a template that the JP stuck with. The JP crew had to do idol stuff like merchandise promotion and advertising. EN had much less of that.
