>>23792563>>23793225nta, but just know you might get somewhere if you try, but you absolutely will not get anywhere if you don't.
I've been doing reps for just about two years now, even before I got back into chuubas, because I finally got overly annoyed with localization in video games and VNs. My effort has amounted to anki every day which takes 15-30 minutes unless you miss a day, and then for the past year occasionally doing some extra reading by playing games or reading doujin manga panels on boorus. The extra reading takes more effort because I have to look up kanji and words I do not know or have forgotten, but I've noticed that when I have strings of days where I am doing that, I retain and learn more. The games I've played are DQ1-4 and am maybe 1/4 through 5.
Overall I've still averaged <30 minutes a day because I am a lazy piece of shit that often doesn't do the extra reading after anki, but it's built up and I can read a surprising amount at this point.
The main advice I can give is that you have to focus on what you are doing to learn. Anki is simple in that regard because you can't really do much else while doing the flash cards. But if you want to prioritize listening, you have to really focus on what they are saying, and eventually it will likely stick. Also even if you want to focus on listening and don't care about reading/writing, pick up a core anki deck from the guide in
>>>/int/djt to help with vocabulary. If there isn't a thread up, check the archive. Don't bother with /jp/'s thread, it's gone to chaos and last time I checked they stopped linking a guide and had a ritual spammer shilling their own alternative, while /int/ has kept the original and has people actually writing in nip.
I have been neglecting listening reps, even now, as I often do other things while semi-watching chuubas. If I focus, I can pick up a decent amount, but listening is not my current priority, so I prefer to read for practice. Depending on if you already know more than one language, it might not take super long to start picking things up. There's a spic anon in /fbk/ that has been at it for a bit less time than I have, but his listening skills are much better and he had an easier time learning since he already knew two or three languages.
