>how do I make overseas viewers watch me in greater numbers You suggested ASMR. There are hundreds of ASMRtists, even entire companies of them (some even tracked on vstats, for instance), languishing on the 3 digits / 2 digits territory, doing worse than Mike herself right now so I don’t think that would be the path.
The three successful cases of increasing their number of EOPs (Haachama, Coco and Subaru) did by following this one simple trick:
>make your content accessible Here are some examples of how.
1) Have a reliable LiveTL
Haachama in her EOP height had two or three every stream
2) caption your pre recorded content
Having subs on content that is not live is not that hard or expensive. Some JP content creators I watch (NekoNiwa, Kimono Mom) whose content is more or less weekly, have their videos with EN subs the same day they’re released.
3) caption the general outline of your content in English
Coco used to too with her AsaCoco (after some time IIRC), and Subaru, at very least for her zatsus, now uses a translated card with the topics
Haachama uses the localized title on YouTube to translate it in English.
4) understand the EOP culture
Coco made a killing by being the one to understand western (shitty) memes and culture. Things that go very well for JOP will flop miserably with EOP and vice versa.
Miko (and Haachama too) milked the fuck out of GTAV back in the days exactly because they figured out it would work well with kaigai.
Subaru likewise, by embracing the duck meme (which she learned from the western clip subtitles)
Without doing this basic groundwork Mike can’t “get EOP to love her more” because she won’t have any in significant numbers and being cute and doing cute noises can only take a streamer so far in that market.
