>>24756799She's kind of right, but not quite.
>its absolutely mental to say streamers/vtubers have "betrayed" you for dating someone/seeing someone in their personal lifeThat part I agree with. At the very least if they aren't GFE streamers, but I think GFE is weird to begin with.
>you do not know the streamer, the streamer doesn't know you. trying to attempt to make anything more of that is parasocial and unhealthy.By that same logic, any kind of online friendship would be unhealthy, so nope. Parasocial relationships are one-sided by definition. Streamers interact with their audience. There are also VTubers who became streamers because they themselves were lonely. Of course it gets weird if certain lines are crossed, but it's not a simple black and white thing like she's making it out to be.
>i always thought vtuber fans were so cringyMost VTubers don't even see themselves as idols or do GFE and most fans aren't like that. Plus, the phenomenon is way older than VTubers and applies to regular celebrities as well. But she just wrote "vtuber fans". If she thinks all VTuber fans are cringy, why the hell did she become a VTuber?
>the "vtuber" and the "person behind the character" are completely separateNo. VTubers are not anime VAs, it's not just about the character, it's about the person. People follow their favourites VTubers across reincarnations, and trying to recast a VTuber character with a different VA kills companies. Doesn't mean they can't have a private life outside of their streams, but the same applies to regular streamers, VTubers just have a bit more privacy by default.
>you think of every social interaction as a transactionIt might be nice not to, but it isn't wrong. Superchats and memberships ARE a kind of transaction. People pay for entertainment, and there's nothing wrong with that. It only becomes a problem when people consider them as advance payments that give them authority over someone's life decisions.
Again, I agree with her overall point, getting mad over a VTuber having a SO is fucking stupid, but she's simplifying things way too much.
