Because they're generally the ones willing to accept terrible deals like the ones offered by Cover and other JP agencies. I don't know the exact number, but they take at the very least a 30% cut from superchats and ad revenues. If you're accepting this deal you either:
1) are broke
2) absoultely love the agency and JP idol culture
3) just don't care enough and treat it as a side gig
4) understand that a corporation like Cover might help you to reach a bigger audience and be financially rewarding in the long run, if you can actually put in some work.
The types that you described (which are basically most EN members) generally fall in categories 2 and 3, JP talents mostly in 1 and 4. It's no coincidence that you see so many poorfags in the JP branch.

You also have to add yt's cut which is another 30%. Streamers are left with about 30-40% of the SC revenue. That works if you manage to get a massive audience, but for most streamers that's kind of pitiful. Which is why this deal can be beneficial only in some cirumstances, and smaller streamers are still wagies by necessity. If you stopped to think for a second before calling me a retard, you'd realize that in most work environments giving up 60-70% of your revenue is a terrible fucking deal.

Nor is it a guarantee you will be picked up by some future company.

Oh, cool, you watch streams. So lets do some really simple math. Everyone likes to look at a top earner like Coco or Rushia in this industry but lets take a more modest earner like Watson. She's made 653k in superchats over the course of about 1.5 years.

So (653k x 0.35) / 1.5 = 152k in superchats per year. Oh, thats a lot you say.
Then she has to pay income tax on all that stuff, local taxes, state taxes. I don't know how superchats are taxed but we'll just treat it as income and not a bonus check for simplicity.

The US tax bracket for that income range is 24%. (86k-164k) and her effective tax rate would be around 18%.

So 152K x 18% = 27K owed in fed tax

Now lets say she's living in California, she'll get nailed for another 10% on that 152k.
So she'd owe them 15K in state tax.

152K - 27K - 15K = 110K left over. Is that good money? Yes, but it's hardly rich. Basically just middle class job at best, and really depends where you live on what your cost of living is.

For a sportsball reference, the minimum pay for an NFL player is 660K, MLB is 570K.
You can search these yourself, but the average annual pay in California is around 80k a year.

So to make the best of their pay, these girls would be best served by moving to a very low cost of living state since all they need is an internet connection to do their job.

Sana is literally the textbook case of "Thought she wanted it".

What actually ended up happening is in late 2021 she approached management saying she wanted to graduate and just go back to focusing on her art because she found streaming way more stressful than she anticipated. Since it would be a very bad look for Cover to have a talent graduate so soon, especially with Nijisanji gaining clout in the EN V-tuber sphere, they offered her a new contract. She doesn't get a salary anymore and a lower cut of her SCs and YT memberships but doesn't have a requirement on how often she streams.

Okay, lets give Sana the benefit of the doubt, even if she doesn't really deserve it.

I think it's reasonable for someone off the street who is picked to be in a movie/tv show to get some acting classes
Sana probably thought she could do without it for awhile, but constantly comparing herself to other girls probably made her feel insecure

Making her own youtube channel to stream games "might be" her attempting to learn how to be a streamer from the ground up
I think that's probably the best thing to do, as she's most likely been dealing with imposter syndrome for the last half year
The other reason why she could be doing this is;

So you have superchat money, member money, and lots of merch money adding up to at least lower-mid hundreds of thousands of USD. There are other income sources like sponsored streams, but we don't have any public numbers for that.
