Elite cooking is the best by a mile, followed by flattening board (even on non-flat characters), then BL Fujoshi but be aware it loses all knockback when collabed.

They're all good enough for stage. Dragonfire is powerful for what it does but it being directional makes it bad in endless where AoE is king.

Idol Song is the worst one, never take it unless you for some reason are forced into glowstick but already have dragonfire.

This is why it's bait. People think Micomet is good despite it locking you out of the objectively strongest collab in the game in Elite Cooking, and also locking you out of BL Fujoshi.

Micomet is only good in stage mode, and only on characters that kite a lot like Kronii because it's damage is mostly front loaded.

Thought of a possible kit for Lamy for when gen 5 will eventually get added to the game since I was bored and had nothing better to do, rate it whether it's cool or cringe

New gameplay mechanic exclusive for Lamy: Freeze - lasts for 10 seconds, when an enemy is frozen it cannot damage you and all of your weapons have 5% chance of shattering it, killing it instantly. (with the exception of fire based weapons such as Lava Bucket, MiComet or Dragon Fire which will defrost them instead)

Starting weapon: Icicle - at max awakened level it shoots 4 projectiles at the cone spread with each projectile having 20% chance to freeze an enemy

Ability 1

Her gameplay revolves around the first ability buffing her damage for freezing enemies while the rest of her kit helps out make freezing more consistent. Overpowered, balanced or shit?

She has a dodges, inbuilt lifesteal, and inbuilt CC as her three personal skills.

There's also currently a bugged interaction where the invincibility from plushie triggers when she's contacted by an enemy even when they don't damage her, which allows her to tank Yagoos.

For some reason the ability to survive past 30 minutes is the metric we're using for the measure of character quality when it's only possible with bugs or insane RNG in the case of Kronii, Irys, or (especially) Bae.

Sana and Fauna literally can never do Yagoo's at all, and Kiara not only can't do Yagoo's but also has the least synergistic, least internally consistent kit and feels the worst to play.

Mumei and Calli can get to Yagoo's easily but big numbers is not enough to tank them so they both die right after 30, but both are extremely good at farming stage for coins, in fact the best in the game at it.

However both of them, as well as Ame, lack the tools to tank Yagoos and thus die at 30 in endless.

As long as the metric of character strength is "how long can you survive/how easily can you survive in endless" then the clear character tierlist is Ina > Gura >>> Irys > Kronii > Bae > Mumei/Calli > Sana/Fauna > Ame > Kiara

Literally any character with any one collab can clear stage 100% of the time unless you're trash.

Ame isn't even considered shit, only Kiara is.

Ame just can't do Yagoo's and her frailty makes her the second hardest character to get to 30 minutes with.

Fr Kiaras flame trail is too weak, her defense skill is ok, but the dancer passive is too hard to keep up without using a joystick because swapping directions sometimes makes you stop for less than a second thats still enough to drop the bonus damage, which was already pretty pathetic in the first place.

Most characters should actually probably be around the same level as Sana or Fauna.

Ame only really needs two buffs.

She needs her gun to ricochet first, then pierce, instead of the other way around.

And she needs her instant kills to proc on kill effects like Ina gets for AO (a buff that should also effect Calli and would probably make her able to do Yagoos)..

The way to implement that is to just make her starting weapon required for it, but that would require the implementation of multipiece collabs which is definitely not a "first or second wave of characters" mechanic.

I'd like to see Awakened starting weapons having collabs though.

My guess is that you'll get some form of stat boost, maybe haste or/and attack, by collecting them, either like Mori's Workaholic , where they are collected when you kill someone or like Fauna's saplings were they are dropped and you have to collect them.

If the metric is "how long can you survive/how easily can you survive in endless", baring Ina's bugged interactions at the moment, Kronii would be at the top of the list. Granted, you can struggle to reach post 30 if RNG hates you, but she is the only character who can reach a point where scaling no longer matters. Everyone else will need to increase their HP and Damage to match the scaling of Yagoos, but one Kronii hits 200% haste she could never gain a single extra level and could still live as long as she chooses.

Another way to do this would be to just make special cooldown very good on her.

Maybe her special starts an idol performance with a little spotlight and some screen effects (maybe a music change) and causes her non-damage over time attacks to charm all enemies (stunning them and making them take extra damage) and boosts her rate of attack. That would actually make Idol Concert good on her, as an instance of AoE that's not linked to a DoT.

Ame also does not need to increase damage scaling, just attack speed. The more attacks there are, the more chances for instakills you get. It's just hard to get lucky enough for the required stats. I've only survived past 31min with Ame once.

Except Ina doesn't proc effects with the AO insta-kill, she procs them on the Takodachi's "dying" when they reach her. SO all insta-kills act the same; whether that should be changed is certainly up for debate.

It's not up for debate. Ina's the only character with an instant kill that still gets the benefit of getting kills.

Either it needs to be changed to proc them when AO does the conversion and not when they're picked up (and Ame/Calli need the same buff) or it needs to not proc on kill effects at all.

I'd prefer the former, because this is a single player game and buffs are more funs.

Sure, but there is no threshold for an RNG reliant ability to ever be guaranteed. It's the same thing with Iyrs; she doesn't need to scale damage, but you still are relying on Hope to proc to save you. My point is that Kronii is the only character, working as intended, that can reach a phase in the game where she has a literal perfect defense without the need for any RNG on either skill procs or stat-up offers.

Because she's the first character on the character select and Kay is good at basic game design so he made her the beginner character.

She lacks CC, sustain, movement speed, literally the only things she HAS is damage and a panic button, which literally every other character also has.

People get their first wins with her because she's easy to play. Get back to me when people start getting their first push to 30 with her, or when people are using her to stage farm, or when people are getting the majority of their clears with her because she's in any way the best at anything.

She's not, and that's okay. Every game needs a Ryu.

This only has to do with who people play most, not who is best

She's also extremely easy to push to 30 with. I have no idea what you're on about. Once you have Spider Cooking or Elite Cooking, Detective Eye Lv3 and Nurse's Horn you can stop pressing buttons except on level up. It's that easy.

Anyone using her to stage farm doesn't know how to stage farm. Calli and Mumei are both objectively better at it, they earn more XP and thus more gold.

Ame is easy to push to 30 with, but so is /everyone else/ but Kiara. It's not an indicator of relative strength.

Every single character with Elite Cooking and Nurse's Horn can stand completely still and get to 30.

Saying Ame is good because she can get to 30 with the best collab and nurse's horn is like saying that Kiara is good early game because she has a weapon that can one shot shrimps.

It's really the worst skill in the game. I wish it was similar to dakimura. Her trail blazer skill also doesn't scale with speed

Mumei's ability to collect xp from range with with Friend while keeping still, stops the xp from getting spread out as far as any other character meaning on average she get's about 9 more levels than other characters (Calli's ability to farm the timed waves means she gets about 5-7 more depending on Death proc RNG), Mumei also doesn't have to pick up coins thanks to friend untils he already has maxed Superchat. Likewise Mumei's awakened feather is enough for her to stand totally still until 19:00 at which point she then needs exactly one collab.

She also requires no specific items in order to do all this which lets you get exclusively the lowest upgrade level passives enabling you to start picking up coins faster than anyone else, and with fewer levels required for survivability.

It's /objective/ that she is the best farmer because of all of that. She simply has the ability to gain a higher amount of gold than other characters.

If they add more levels you could have some themed challenges like Ame v Kronii, Sana v Ina, or Kiara v Mori. With the holo themselves being like a final boss. Though collab weapons for "ships" could also be fun for endless mode.

Yes. I mean it's fine for stage I guess, but crit is the single biggest damage boost in the game, and the bonus attack is fairly small. And as far as endless goes its a literal stat trough, making it statistically the worst item in game.

How is this still a thread? The game is good, but very repetituive and not even remotely deep. There's no real secret techs and indepth strategy. The game is very limited in terms of content. Updates aren't being pumped out at a rapid pace at all.

Even with VS, which he was already aware of, it became a game that players and streamers alike just come back to when there are updates. Which is enough in its own way. It's not like he's making a 200 hour RPG and expecting every holo to play through it to 100%; Holos playing it, exhausting the content, and only coming back for new stuff had to have been within his expectations.

So plushie is just broken, in a sense that it can just randomly stop working and you'll die instantly no mater how much hp you have, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it?
I had a perfect run with Kroni, 600 hp, 150% haste. Died in the first 15 seconds, in a single frame, from 100% health to zero in a downtime between bubbles.
Next i played Irys and had just a horrible run, 390 hp before Yagoo, no chance to do anything. Survived for 2 and a half minutes, while being fucked in the ass by 50 yagoos at the same time. I only reached 600 hp at 32 minutes.
I wasted my time. I'm done with endless runs until the next big update. Better to just farm gold in stage mod to buy Gamers.

I don't think the plushie itself is the issue, rather something about the item effects resetting on level up. Irys is dependant on nurse rng even with plush working properly though, so enough bad dice rolls in a row and you inevitably wipe

It's +40%, but it's actually a better pick than wine/tea for characters that don't have high crit, crit dependent skills, or Mumei-tier attack buffs in stage mode. Problem is it mechanically breaks half the characters. Ame, Calli, Bae, Kronii, IRyS, and possibly Sana if you count astrology, all have skills that depend on crit or give substantial crit buffs. Mumei gets enough attack that picking wine is more average damage. I kinda see that trend continuing with new characters.

At least it's not energy drink, the most useless item bar none.

I think Calli could have kept her deadzone if it didn't grow with area increases. Half the problem was new players upgrading her scythe first (because that is the obvious thing to do) and then it getting worse, especially when the player has no shop upgrades or gacha ranks and can barely outrun enemies.

It's a wall because it instantly kills anything that touches it. Mumei's damage is bugged and scales up to like 4000% during Yagoo phase so if you have constant 360 degree damage it will one-shot anything that gets close to you.

Dev commented on reddit that he already has a system in place that condenses XP drops, but he did it differently from VS so it doesn't all stack into one gem. We can probably assume that the value of xp over the spawn limit is added to existing gems in some way but he didn't get into the specifics of how it works.

at this point, are we supposed to be believing that these Holos haven't seen or played this game when they finally get around to streaming a few rounds? The initial fun was seeing them react to the reference items, enemies and collabs, but unless they've been living under a rock and actively avoid watching their fellow members' streams, they've already seen it all. With there only being 1 unchanging level, watching certain ones die at the same parts becomes tiresome.

It's not mechanically deep but it's more systemically deep than any other game in the genre. Each of the characters having five unique properties beyond differing base statistics means that there absolutely is a concept of "builds" and "kits" like there would be in a MOBA. In fact 5 different systems working in tandem is usually what a basic MOBA character kit consists of, it's just in this context it's mostly 3 passives and 2 "actives" rather than the 1/4 split you see in MOBAs.

at least Holocure has tank builds and damage builds, which is a step up over Vampire Survivors which just has damage builds

Most of her fans aren't from indonesia, actually. If anything she has one of the most international audience amongst the IDs. Her issue is the same as Kiara in that she can speak several different languages but whenever she switches language she filters out a good third of her audience who only knows one of them

Yes I know that. Before EN hit alot of them got a little niche due to speaking EN but it was Hololive EN that really amped it up. Moona got Minecraft autism and Risu had NNN but Iofi lagged behind. I dont remember seeing much of anything from her when I started watching circa Gen5 and IIRC she wasent streaming much that Fall

I could be wrong trying to remember to everything in thgat living hell of a year though

That's a problem of us still being on the literal first content build of the game. As more characters with more niche abilities and more specific or less generally stat-bally items get added it'll change some of the items (hopefully most of them) from "bad" to "good on X or Y but shit on everyone else"

The planned content for this game includes every girl in hololive, if we exclude the maybe's and the what ifs that means there are 11 more "banners" to be added to the gacha store with 3-5 girls each totaling a final character roster of 56 characters

45 of which are not in the game yet, if even half of those characters get their own items added into the pool a year from now this game will be unrecognizable to what it is now.

Even if you have 50 characters, a VS game will never be "deep", because you only have one obstacle, enemies that spawn and run at you

That's not true to literally any game in the genre. Enemy variation is absolutely a thing in VS and even more so in the ones less artistically limited like Minutes Till Dawn.

It's just that's all we have now, if Fubuzilla can have a beam we'll probably get some genuine enemy variation when he's had more time to work on stages.

Yeah there's normal enemies, bosses, and that annoying red skeleton that doesn't die when you kill it
All you do in VS is max your weapons, what the enemy is doing is irrelevant

VS is an extremely different game from Holocure though, it's designed to be an exponential growth simulator.

I mean, there are still elements of things to consider with every character. Things like Haste making Kronii or Mumei god-tier level, while being an almost completely worthless stat on Sana and Fauna. Dev also mentioned something about a way to scale the starter weapons better into late game, which would heavily benefit Mori or Ame, but again be worthless on others.

if they are made immortal, your weapons would be useless and you will be forced to always dodge them. add them more often and in random patterns and the concept of playing afk will be minimized

I don't think you understand how different two copies of the exact same rogue-lite or RPG can be when one is based in a linier scaling system and the other in an exponential one.

It's "very slightly different" in the game Metroid is "very slightly different" from Megaman.

The damage is good but he also collects exp for you, without the need for range upgrades, making it super easy for a beginner to get a win

It affects the way you think about it. The gameplay is still moving across a 2D plane, shooting enemies, and avoiding hazards.

It's the exact same as Holocure to VS. They have the same basic gameplay but how you think about them is radically different resulting in them being very different games.

First of all VS doesn't even scale that much harder than Holocure, it has a few more stats that affect your global damage but that's it
The only significant different is like I said, tank builds
But if you think just altering your build is "radically different" you lack perspective. You're just picking the skills that increase your damagte the most, or picking the skills that increase your tank the most

I can see that, when he started to think about making the game, EN was still at their peak. 6 months ago when he actually started development, it would be easy for players to recognize EN over Gen 0 or even 1, and since he also worked in a lot of things for hololive like the Q video, he pretty much found very easy to do kits and playstyles for EN.

He's not wrong, but it's just that by making them only fire horizontal you are raising the skill floor but lowering the ceiling. Characters are less dynamic that way, and makes them more reliant on early weapons rather than relying on their main one, especially with enemies like Fubuzilla where horizontal is the only danger zone.
