Also being twitch based, there is no respect for Copyright, so any sign of growth approaching Hololive will see them getting fucked in the ass with copyright infringement takedowns and potentially lawsuits from JP companies.
Lets say VshojoJP is on youtube instead, well then you're cut off from the main vshojo audience, and your numbers aren't going to be any better than they were as an indie, oh, buy then you get to deal with the bugs that will obviously show up, and then mikeneko antis who she will predictably sperg out about. The more attention they bring to Vshojo in Japan, the more likely other vshojo related vtubers also get smacked with that dmca hammer by Japanese companies full in their rights to, even under US law.
Vshojo will never be an existential threat as a vtubing company, but Mikeneko visiting Kson's house while Kanata lives there could be an existential threat to Kanata's career. Cover just made her aware of potential situations and asked if she was prepared to accept the risks to herself and others by staying, and she said no. Ultimately Cover just informed her and she made an informed decision, of her own will. Perhaps they even discussed it. Kson tells Kanata to join her, Kanata tells Kson to come back.... she should have just swallowed her pride and come back, she could have been so much more, now she's just gonna be a connor groupie...
