They would have known at least when Sana told their manager she intended to leave, which in all likelihood was probably a few weeks after she came back from her injury. You could probably pinpoint it to just before she beat the new Kirby game, because her list of games to play after that was really short. She was really pushing herself to complete the games she had already started.

I think I'm done with Hololive. I found myself attached to Rushia and I obsessively listened to her and every single one of her collabs. I re-ordered my life according to her schedule and streams and losing her and also access to all her past videos really hurt. I don't care at all for any of the EN Gen but found Sana's voice very endearing and cute to listen to and her sporadic schedule allowed me to keep up with all of her streams.

nah man, she was really the glue that held them together. had wholesome interactions with all of them, and was one of the few who could get Mumei to act normal in the early days. Sana's first break was when Kronii and Fauna had their civil war and when Sana came back she pushed all that fake drama aside and they all had cake. Sana was always the one that could make them relax and just have fun being dorks.

now they've gotten more comfortable and done more off-collabs, but I think it's gonna be tougher for them to feel like "Council" anymore without the team mascot.

It's for the best. Her heart was never really in it. Her model wasn't that good, and not just because she was brown. She was the weakest member of council. Council is better off without her. She's better off doing what she enjoys instead. So, I don't feel sad about her graduation at all.

that collab was fun, but I do hnnestly think it showed how much less chemistry Mori has with them collectively than Sana did.
Mori and Bae get along very very well, but you could tell when the Council girls started getting weird together in their particular way, Calli kinda tuned out a bit like she tends to do. I think IRyS has better overall chemistry with Council but even then Sana was the only one of them that seemed happy to yab with IRyS on the same wavelength and not veer towards playing the straight man like Bae or the rival like Kronii.

A lot of the Council collabs minus Sana were pretty dysfunctional in not always entertaining ways. whenever Kronii Fauna and Mumei were together they get into bantz and Bae, if she's there, gets left behind. when all five of them were together Sana helped bridge the gaps and that got them to either focus on a goal or act more as a unit, like for the MC builds.. I can only hope the off-collabs helped fix this dynamic a bit between the four of them.

Sana was just one of those squishy personalities that didn't really clash anywhere, and I think that's what some people saw as "debut mode" because that's usually a trait that fades over time. but that's just the kind of dork she was and that's what made her special.

Anyone else feel kinda guilty about Sana? The rational part of my mind tells me that there were multiple factors at play and ultimately it's her decision to graduate. But there's something inside me saying that if I watched her streams more, recommended her to my friends, saviorfagged just a little harder, then maybe she would have a few more subscribers and she'd have enough fans to reconsider her decision.

Yeah but she was still pulling about 4-5 hours, not counting collabs. She was definitely doing better, but it seemed like the back issue killed her from ever doing the magical 7-10 hour endurance streams that were the most special.

The biggest problem for her is she never seemed to think about using her Holo channel as a depository for edited content or experimental content. If she hadn't been so focused on only streaming and even avoiding work zatsus and art, she could have really made the channel something to compliment her work activities rather than be separate from it.

Even now I feel like someone could present her with a gameplan that would make the Holo-channel totally plausible for her to keep, but it would require her to totally rethink how she uses it so far. I'm not sure management ever cared that much anyway.

Yeah the timezone def hurts Bae, and now she's even more on her own, but I also think creatively she might have started with different streaming goals than them that made her less inclined to goof around in the same ways. You saw this in particular with her early collabs with Mumei where it felt like Mumei was playing dumb a bit excessively and the literal wasting of time seemed to bother Bae a lot.
I think that's why Bae ended up bonding so well with Mori and IRyS in particular because they all seem to have that more career-oriented mindset around this vtubing thing.

And I'd like to think that was something Bae appreciated about Sana too, since Bae knew Sana had an active career outside of streaming. So when Sana was goofing off it never felt quite as wasteful because you knew she was also fighting a deadline somewhere.

Sana had probably the best debut stream. It showed how creative and funny she could be. But between Susan culling her numbers hard twice, the month long break and the back problems, she never got her momentum going. I also like the nostalgic 80s anime feeling of her design.
I really wish more people gave her a chance. Being stuck so far at the bottom can’t have done good for motivation, and we know that even the likes of Pekora gets ideas shot down often so things can get frustrating for a creative person.

I was so hopeful from that debut, was weird and a little cringey at the start but by the end I was totally charmed

She might have been lacking for all the time in between then and now, aside from a few kino moments that I was able to see, because of just how shit things turned out for her. But that was one of her shining moments and I'm gonna get REALLY sad if I go back and watch it again

This is just another drop that will make me invest less into hololive overall. Someone else must have prioritized the hiding of those videos, which is also why they're arbitrarily leaving the first one up despite a handful of the other removed ones using the same presentation format as that one. Sana would consider the actual content of those videos, but someone else would just tag them all for being Holoscopes.
