the bigger issues are the lack of intracity public transit (why take the train to a city if you've gotta rent a car once you get there) and all the regulatory bullshit in the way of big construction projects driving the price and time through the roof.
In conclusion there's literally no problem in the world today that can't be mitigated with more trains, better trains, or more lines.
