I feel like fighting games are ideal because both streaming and fighting games are kinda "turn your brain on half the time, off half the other time" kinda deals so with both together, you're kinda kept engaged the whole time; imo with a turn-based jrpg kinda deal you get distracted since you're always thinking about resource management and optimization in the back of your mind and you'll also miss out on fully enjoying any story progress/dialogue if you're too busy watching a stream
Fighting games are also something you can incrementally improve in detail by detail, execution, combos, matchup knowledge, neutral etc so it feels like constant progress
Plus if you're just waiting on the lobby then that gives you enough downtime to browse the threads
