>>28422058KPop relationships often have to be company-approved and even more often end up breaking up after a few months, it's a success if it lasts longer than one year. You've mentioned Twice and neither Momo [one of the three Japs] nor Jihyo [group leader but not their center], the only two girls from Twice ever officially confirmed to be dating anyone, are in any sort of publicly known relationship.
When it comes to dating then Hyuna has gone through some shit, her own company kicked her out because she started dating her male group member with whom she is to this day and both are now in a better place.
The ideal korean idol is still straight and single because, as pretty much all entertainment industries like this, they also rely on parasocial relationships with their fans/consumers. Any even mildly less right-winged/conservative view is literally either hated or outright banned in Korea; you can go to jail for doing porn [even when done outside of Korea], male idols have to follow very strict fashion/style quotas, feminism is officially banned, homosexuality is a huge taboo and i'm yet to hear about any openly gay idols, both male and female.
Afaik there are a few marriages, but only a few and once again for some reason they're often between idols from the same agency. It's not like there's a fuckton of them, there's a soft triopoly because of how big three companies are and how they own the biggest groups.
Successful idols have some freedom, but until you make it big, you're fucked. You're almost the company's property; not allowed to contact your family, not allowed to date, not allowed to be in the same room as the opposite gender, generally more fuckery than JP Idols.
