Nowadays they hold all packages for screening, so you have to fulfill a longass form, which tends to turn into a back and forth until they are happy with it, then they milk you dry by charging 23% VAT and other taxes over both the package and the shipping fees.
The last time I had the misfortune of importing something, it got shipped back to Japan by mistake after it was cleared and I already had paid the import duties. They refused to take responsibility for it so I ended up having to pay even more for the package to be shipped again.
