The ID branch isn't important
The EN branch IS important
IDs have been riding on the coattails of the EN audience for a long time because they're vaguely bilingual. A lot of IDs have predominantly english audiences
EN2 debuts are imminent
And management wants to push that EN audience away from the IDs and toward the EN2s.
This content shift is designed to filter EOPs in the hopes they free up a larger audience to take interest in the EN2s, hoping that the new gen won't pull audiences away from the first gen. IDs are being set up as sacrificial lambs because cover considers their branch disposable.
