>>29466475>>29465893That's because Crunchyroll put fansubbers out of business. Fansubs existed as a necessity back in the day for the few who were autistic enough to watch subbed anime and actively sought out the best quality encodes and subs. If you wanted to get into anime you had to learn to be patient for the week it took for fansubbers to release the best possible encode with fancy typesetting and stylized karaoke subs and meticulously autistic dialogue to protect the original intent of the Japanese language. People who went for speedsubs were ridiculed or at least knew they were consuming a lower quality product and would rewatch it with proper subs once the better release came out.
Then CR came around and started hiring chinks for $2/hr to shit out garbage low quality subs with no typesetting and horrible encodes on the day the show aired in Japan. The normies completely ate it up without a care for quality and it completely deflated any enthusiasm fansubbers had for delivering a quality product. When you see Twitterfags spamming references to an anime using the butchered CR subs that might as well be machine translations of the original Japanese script it's incredibly depressing. It also completely destroys the original intent of the series as dialogue is rewritten to appeal to younger generations and western sensibilities.
The few fansubbers left who actually "sub" stuff do it for older shows that will never get a western release. Or they abandoned anime and started working for Mangagamer, JAST, or Kagura Games translating porn games on Steam.
