>>29795535>There is nothing socially appropriate about the equivalent of taking a megaphone to someone's work place and shouting "Hi" at them when it could cause them problems. We have DMs for that.Making a public space your workplace doesn't suddenly allow you to pretend everyone else has to follow your norms.
>This is where we disagree then. I believe the most ethical course of action is always that one that causes the least amount of harm, and he wasn't defending himself from greater harm so he acted unethically.Which is moronic. If Mumei joining Hololive would cause a unicorn to kill thsemlves once she leaves, do you think it was unethical for her to join? Why make exceptions for self-defense, or is it only from greater harm? And the classic question for utilitarians, if you gave all your organs and donated them to a hospital, you could probably save the lives of 5 or more different people, who need a heart, liver, kidney, lung, or brain. Why do you think your death causes more overall harm than the lives of 5 random people? Do you think it's unethical to grab random people off the street to save the lives of 5 randoms?
>Nevermind, we apparently do agree on basic ethics, but you either don't believe the harm existed in the first place or believe it was somehow justified(?)An action that is normally unjustified, can be justified in situations where it's required to prevent further unjust actions. We still disagree that "harm caused" is not equivalent to "unjust". If you take an action that is normally justified, it causing harm isn't the only, or even a requirement, to make it unjustified.
>I'm not a tribalist.I didn't mean to imply you were. Just as a general, if you support x. Replace X with Phase, Prism, Niji, or whoever you want. I'm not talking about you specifically either when I talk about a unicorn who wants her to be pure.
>Nobody else has the right to chase them away, intentionally or otherwise, without her consent.Nobody is chasing them away. They are leaving with their own consent if they think someone tweeting hi is cause for them to leave. I also don't agree with how you frame that anyone needs her consent for them to leave. Do you think the unicorns themselves have the right to intentionally leave without her consent? Do you think she has the right to chase them away without their consent? Again, I don't understand why you remove agency from them.
>You have made a claim that posting here causes an outcome I do not wish for without providing proof for said claim. Show me examples of people dropping Vtubers I like because of my post. Make sure to include the cancelled membership.Where is the proof that saying hi caused material harm? Also both you and I clearly understand that the argument has been abstracted to hypothetical and future harm. Even a straight collab with a male doesn't allow most people to refund donations they've already made, nor would it suddenly force them to payback money they would have already made otherwise. "Upset unicorns = less money" implies future harm. It's also hypothetical harm, because a future in which HoloEN could be making more money if they didn't pander to unicorns is possible, even if not likely and you obviously don't know the future. Similarly, posting here could cause hypothetical harm, by turning off people who could have been fans of HoloEN and by extension Mumei, had it not been for your posts.
