I woke up for Shuba's P4 at 6AM, but that was only because it's on weekeneds. EN time slots are unreasonable for us EU bros. I wish IRyS streamed in the regular JP evening time slot more often, since it's perfect. Although it's oversaturated with JP streams, which are kind of a competition for IRyS, since she's been doing bilingual pandering recently.

Highly unlikely. I don't think the design is the problem, but the artist himself. However, I didn't think that she'd get a full blown redesign. Until recently. That comment about changing the whole set of chat stamps pretty much spells out, the design will be different. Which is rather strange. Since the design was made for Cover, for IRyS. It's not like the artist can just take back the work he was paid for. (Unless there are some weird nip IP laws at play or something). But that leaves us only one option, I'm afraid. She must've asked for a redesign as well, while they were changing the artist. Because she doesn't like the original. I'll miss the horns.
Well, that's what I gather from this "time for a change" business anyway. I might be wrong, of course.

During the anniversary IRyS said it was something she was pushing for the last 6 months. I think it was. So, the actual work probably didn't start until recently. She was trying to convince the higher-ups and whoever else most of that time.

I personally don't think the art style is the issue here. I think Redjuice is just a shit papa, who doesn't want to support his daughter. I honestly don't see how a change in the hairstyle should affect chat stamps. You don't see other holos redoing the whole stamp set because of a new hairstyle or even a new outfit. You can just add the new ones and keep the old.
This is even more baffling, considering the old merch will stay the same anyway. I hope she doesn't actually hate the design. There's nothing wrong with it per se, not even with Redjuice's artstyle. It's the lack of support, imo.

Don't they take the talents' inputs on the designs now? I could swear I've heard something along those lines from as early as 5th gen. It just seems extremely odd to just decide to scrap the initial design the first thing you get hired.
Anyway, I'll believe when I see it. I haven't seen much activity from Redjuice on SnS or anywhere. Doesn't have to be a new outfit. Other papas and mamas often post art pieces, say hi in the stream chat, or even collab with their daughters. Call me biased against Redjuice, I don't care. We'll see soon enough.

No, what doesn't make sense is getting a new model without a good reason. "I don't like it" would hardly convince the management. It took the whole of China for Nene and Flare to get a redesign. IRyS is a spoiled princess for DadRyS, but I don't think she'd get the same treatment from YAGOO. Not that soon anyway. Literally from the very first day people have noticed her design sticks out like a sore thumb. In fact that was my very first reaction to IRyS and I didn't watch her for months. "Wow, this model looks really bad. Or at least out of place."
I've grown to like it now, but it at least WAS a debuff and she knows that. There's an argument to be made that since people are used to it she runs the risk of a greater debuff by changing it, but it's not as if there's not good enough precedent already for changing it. The model is fine. Sure, it has grown on me too, and I'm not unbiased here. But I think the issue here not as shallow (or maybe, on the contrary as serious) as the artstyle or the way the L2D looks. I think there are some deeper issues in the whole IRyS-Cover-rigger-artist pipeline, which is supposed to work to satisfy the talent's needs. And I'm leaning towards the artist's end, I mean the cause of the issue is closer to that end.

It's honestly sad that she does so little for members, if she apparently appreciates us as much as she says in her post earlier. She's done 4 member streams in the last ~90 days, all of which have just been watchalongs. Gura's done 4 member streams in the last 30 days, which included karaoke and maid roleplay.
I've commented forever on wishing she would even just do member's only posts once in awhile, give updates on what's going on or whatever especially during breaks. I've pretty much given up on expecting anything though, thank god she's at least doing something other than a watchalong next stream.

i personally like gura but she is probably the worst singer being mentioned in the thread from a musical talent level.
i don't know how to get this through to you fags. voice control and having a nice timbre are two separate things. gura's tibre matches really nicely to her personality and preferred music style, but she's just a decent singer who plays to her strengths.

well, i studied piano for 12 years and both my brothers are vocalists so kind of. all my stuff on vocals is osmotic knowledge though. though i do know how to keep pitch well because i studied sight singing to improve my sight reading and internal audiation skills

I agree that CoD has a wide range and that IRyS is able to hit the high note but I don't think she's able to make it sound good enough. It should be the highlight of the song but it sounds too flat. She should never have given them such a big range when they asked her, or she should use her falsetto more.

so, fucking around with a piano took a little bit but after consulting the sheet music yeah the low note is the e flat next to middle c, and the high note is the f two octaves above that. so that would mean CoD has a range of a bit over two octaves. im sure one of you fags is gonna google and tell me two octaves is average for a female vocalist, but that's their total range. i'd have to listen to more of her music to see what her actual lowest and highest notes she can hit are. but the song itself has a really wide range and, at any rate, it's a lot higher than say gura's range. and yes she belts louder than gura.
fwiw, i actually think mumei has more potential as a singer than IRyS unless she figures out her throat one day.
the main thing i'm trying to impress on people is that some songs are made to be easy to sing and it's retarded not to understand that

My argument was never about range and I wasn't the one that brought up Gura since I don't think she's that good. People always say IRyS has good technical skills but aside from having good pitch I don't see it. She does have (or had) a good base and a lot of potential to improve

IRyS can sing really pitchy difficult songs with wide ranges, she can belt when she needs to, she has good enunciation, and she has a clean singing voice that isn't reliant on belting.
to be honest the main issue is that she doesn't have a great place to position herself branding wise. gura can be cute chill loungey, and so can mumei. moona meanwhile has a sexy voice and she belts. IRyS has a good range but she doesn't do the operatic singing that gets retards rushing to write comments, so no one ever gives her credit for it

she hits these high notes without it using falsetto. the cleanliness of her voice is really great for this kind of song. i don't really know how to describe it except clean. thats not some musical term i learned, but i suspect it's why a lot of people aren't immediately attracted to her singing. it's not as immediately personality-laden as other singing styles. but it has a really sweet quality to it that makes it perfect for, well, being an idol
