Ame's 3D antics are incredibly ambitious and if her "studio" wasn't organized properly, Kiara wouldn't've had a birthday live. They have multiple company meetings per week, they have managers that banned from doing certain things, they appear in corpo branded merch, recordings and sponsors all the time, they can choose from a long list of artists and musicians to do their things thanks to the company backing...

There are some retarded rules but people in Vshojo think having no sort of system is necessary when in reality it’s for their own protection and the brand image. I saw this video last night before I went to sleep and had no idea what she meant by this.. With how the industry and companies are right now you have NO freedom to "present yourself however you like." You enter the company, they give you a model and rigger you don't want and give you some shitty character. For the females in hololive especially, they are treated as "idols," and if they do not try to follow this archetype their growth is virtually stunted. Compared to being an IRL streamer, you 100% are not presenting yourself however you like.
I can understand if someone like vshoujo girls said something like this because if you talked about politics or something they could just say, "vtubers are a way to escape reality, I don't wanna talk about that." But even then a blanket statement would not make sense because it is clear all females who are vtubers feel pressured to never reveal their personal life, relationship history, etc.
