HoloJP never turned into NijiJP because they had:

Is there a possibility that we'll see "homobeggars don't watch streams" and "male collabs are debuffs for the girls" debunked by Tempus collabs?

So far there have been 5 Tempus collabs with HoloEN/HoloID and they have all done exceedingly well.

Obviously there's the first time debut buff and novelty buff, but these numbers are buffed for both the boys and the girls and with the positive reception for almost all of them so far, I don't seem them being debuffs in the future at least.
Most of the data we had before about male collabs being a disaster for the girls is because they collab with StarsJP, which is notoriously cursed.
How many collabs do you think would it take with Tempus until the stigma of male collabs being numbers poison goes away?

Mori is the most open to male collabs and even for her it's been a rarity over the past 2 years.

My question is moreso how much of it is because holofans hate male interaction and how much of it is because no one gives a fuck about StarsJP so they skip the collab.

Obviously the hololive brand is still CGDCT and they won't change that, but maybe males aren't as numbers poison as initially thought. I'm surprised how much I've enjoyed the few collabs that's happened so far.

To be fair, ID1 and ID2 are way behind in terms of being streamers compared to ID3. I liked all of ID3. Kobo's supergood and Zeta and Kaela are good too. Initially not interested in Kaela but after seeing her in some collabs, she's pretty unique feeling. Prior to ID3, I gave the other IDs a try but most weren't that interesting for me. PekoMoona changed that for Moona tho I eventually stopped watching solo Moona content.

I tried to give JP stars a try back in 2020 when some anon in /jp/ was trying to recommend them and fuck me, maybe I tuned in at the wrong time on the Mario Kart collab but it felt like Aruran was the only one there that gave a shit and tried to put in effort. Overall, I'd say Aruran and Roberu are decent. My only issue with them are their designs not being that attractive. HolostarsJP need someone with both personality and design. Astel (another one with bad initial design) has gotten alot better, the APEX boost in JP helped him like it helped many other streamers. He still needs better connections/collab partners from that FPS community (same for Matsuri).

Ollie's numbers aren't affected much by male collabs since they're almost always low and when she does buff content like MC, males are involved.
Bae's collabs with Roberu are almost always in JP time, which is out of her usual timeslot and even those don't do that bad compared to her streaming the same kind of content in that slot.

Anon, the whole appeal of vtubers, both to the entertainer and to the public, is that they are not normal people but anime girls turned real.
It's a two way street: the entertainer can keep their life private and away from the prying eyes of a very intrusive public, the audience can fantasize about a character in ways that would not be appropriate to do about a real person.

There is already a form of live streaming entertainment where the entertainers behave "like normal people", vtubers are an alternative to that.

Anon, I am not talking about "talking about personal life".
Every vtuber has a threshold of how much they choose to share and how much they choose to keep to themselves. Some are more open about theri daily lives, some are more reserved and there is an audience for both.

But in general terms vtubers are much more reserved with regards to the details they choose to share with the public, in relation to regular live streamers and that's what make them an alternative.
The great majority of them won't behave like "a normal person" and Silvervale even highlighted that fact (in a very poor way full of envy): a vtuber new outfit is an event, a live streamer using a different set of clothes is just expected.

Maybe there is an audience for streamers with avatars that do completely away with the separation between their private selves and their public characters but it genuinely looks like the majority of the audience flocks to the ones not doing that.

There's only like a handful that can do it with any sort of consistency (no one in Council can surprisingly except for Fauna's ASMRs).

昔は定期的に男女コラボもしてましたしそこで生まれたユニットもありました。
しかしV界隈が盛り上がっていく中で、アイドル性を求めて自分の理想を押し付ける厄介な視聴者(ユニコーンと呼ばれる男性コラボアレルギーの処女厨)が他のV界隈から追い出されて女性のみで勢いのあったホロライブに集まってきた結果、男性とコラボしたり話題に出すだけで発狂して配信の邪魔をするようになりました(特にFPS等の大会ではVだけではなくストリーマーの人達も居るので「合コン」「オフパコ」等と揶揄されたり)。
同社のホロスターズでさえ叩かれてましたし扱いも悪いです。

こういう人達は中身はアレですが金だけは落とすので会社・商売としては立派な客なので無視できなくなり、他企業への迷惑を考えても迂闊に男女コラボができなくなりました。

もう今からその壁を壊すのは難しいですね例えコラボでも男性と関わるだけで発狂する信者もいるので…

性別関係なく他企業とコラボしてた昔ならありえましたが今は無理でしょうね。
例え会社の方針が変わってそうなっても男と絡むだけでアレルギーが出るファンが許さないでしょうし、そういう人達が他から追い出されてホロに集まってしまったのが今の現状なので。

Here is Calli chart for her 30 days median and true average.
That big spike in June 2022 was a sort of "Golden Week(s)" for Calli with

>her collabs with Gigguk and her mingling with the Trash Taste crowd

That boost lasted for a couple of weeks but then it dropped precipitously because her choice of solo content in July and August hurt her tremendously.
It doesn't matter how much you get boosted or debuffed by collabs, touristic events and gimmick streams, your audience will always be proportional to the ones appreciating your solo content.

In the same chart it is easy to see exactly when Calli was playing Elden Ring and when she, instead, was playing Valhalla and Live a Life this year.

Vesper was right about "living and dying by the solo content".
