So if I go to a convention, what does it really mean to "meet" the vtuber? This is effectively just the same thing as their livestream. Even on the big screen in the main hall it'll be just like when I'm at home watching them on the screen. What is the point of having them there? Can I shake their hand? Specifically the vtuber themself or the person behind the model? I don't quite understand this. Is it like a movie theater or a music event where just being there with other like minded people makes it more worthwhile? If we really can't just meet the actual person then there's effectively no point in a vtuber coming to the convention.
