Have you not watched the 1st hour of her holocure stream anon? She's a fast learner but has ZERO(0) game sense or instinct, watching that was one of the most painful things I've ever watched, if anyone remembers during the schizo arc she also played a fan made game that she couldn't finish and it was also one of the most painful things I've ever watched.
After the holocaust haachama's contrarianism became stronger and stronger since she now had to ask for permissions to play the kusoges she enjoyed playing, she never had that great of a rig and was stuck with a shitty laptop to play and stream on while in Australia so she pretty much gave up on 99% of the games, and that went on for like two years... Until the last two days I guess

Audiences aren't regained through fotm games.
Its true that people will watch her play it, but in general people won't really watch Matsuri for regular streams.
Unlike all holos haachama gets numbers on very niche kinds of streams like haachama Sunday it anything just out of the ordinary, I can't lie I didn't expect her to get the good numbers she got on holocure, given the overlap she had and the fact that people don't watch her for gameplay

Not counting the #s from her HoloCure and Rust streams since as you mentioned they get inflated but even not counting those Matsuri in the last couple months has been pulling in 5k to 7k in her other streams of late. At the start of the year before her HoloCure/Rust redemption arc, these same types of streams were only drawing 2k to 4k.
2k to 4k, 5k to 7k. That looks like an audience regain.

Haato is like a completely different person these days. I think management finally cracked down on her shit and told her she actually has to put effort into streams instead of her usual talking, cooking, karaoke and Minecraft streams.

She's now played Holocure and next is going to play Rust... it's wild. I think my original oshi might win me back if she keeps this up. Now all she needs to do is throw away the Haachama character once and for all and go back to being Akai Haato.

Completely throwing away the Haachama persona would be a mistake imo, if you check out how 'Haato' fared back in the day, she drew in less viewers than even Mel and Aki for most of 2019. She only started to grow out of bottom tier into mid tier after Gen3 Debuts.

Akai haato alone will never reach the popularity of Chama, I think. Introduction of Chama persona is one of the genius moves in vtubing careers. Even if a chuuba knows this move, it is very hard to pull it off without the right personality/mindset.
