>>33082671You don't enter Hololive with the intention of just being a streamer as much as /vt/ would like to believe so, Nijisanji is right there if you want streamers, Hololive is for those that kinda want to be streamers but also do projects too big for their own, if you can't stream something or say x, in general it won't matter too much because the average Holomem is in there for other projects bigger than just merch, which for the average streamer merch is already a pretty big announcement because it's overall rare for regular streamers to get merch and even more rare when it's not simple or just shitty because that market is filled with scammers and low quality control
On the freedom part, well, Hololive had more freedom in the past but thanks to schizos on similar levels to those of here, Capcom being shitty and Susan being retarded, Hololive had to implement some restrictions, schizos caused Aloe to graduate and the Taiwan arc, Capcom showed that if you don't stream with permissions a talent is in risk of getting graduated at any moment a company doesn't like something and Susan consistently restricts what can and can't be monetized and had issues with HoloSummer 2019 which is why it didn't came back until recently. If the talents could stream or say whatever they wanted without getting in trouble, management would allow it, but a lot of stuff came up that showed that they can't really do that so restrictions will be in place until something changes
FYI, just because Hololive imposes restrictions that indies don't doesn't mean that indies are actually free to do whatever they please, the biggest difference between Hololive and indies is that Hololive is a much bigger target and easy to notice when they do something someone doesn't like, there's for example no precedent indicating that you can stream whatever game you want due to fair use, if tomorrow 2k feels like being shittier than usual they could sue all GTA content creators that never asked for permissions and there's little they could do and in some cases indies already break the rules and can't get monetized, which is Patreon has become such a popular service for those that break the rules consciously and consistently
