>>33190184>>33190400This is because even if your history is full of "I HATE FOX NEWS", the algo will pick up "I HATE" and "FOX NEWS" separately and assume the worst and fill your recommendations with Sean Hannity and Was Hitler Right?
I, meanwhile, stick to superior independent media and try to actively avoid creators that shove bullshit down my throat, while also trying to throw off the algorithm as much as possible. I've started watching Tasting History with Max Miller, where, despite being a formerly-Mouse-employed, openly-gay-married-to-a-Mexican all over his other social media and even hosting a podcast with said husband, none of that ever once comes up in his food videos and all I get is awesome recipes and actually interesting food videos as opposed to Adam Ragusea, because all of his videos become some countdown game for me where I click on a video on the history of tomatoes and wait how long it takes for him to mention white people or colonialism or the Black Diaspora.
The other day I got homepage ads for cremation service quotes and family planning. I am a 26 year old non-sexhaving male, so, neither of these apply to me. I've been watching a lot of James Hoffman recently despite not drinking any coffee besides half a small cup of cafe con leche when I get my breakfast from this cuban place maybe once a month. I like his enthusiasm for coffee and it's obvious he genuinely loves it and isn't some sort of snob about it even though at first glance he might seem like it. It's just his autism over "the best cup" coming through.
It takes some effort to shift it all now, since now The Algorithm doesn't give you anything you might actually want to see, but if you put some effort in, you can still find stuff actually relevant to your interests that doesn't give you bullshit and makes it harder to get accurately tracked.
