Last time I did it, the blood pumped out so fast it shocked the persons volunteering to take it. They filled several bags of blood and I blacked out unattended. I don't think it was for plasma though, it was my university blood drive.

I tried to give away platelets (they didn't recived plasma) but when I made the blood exam I saw my own blood in that little bottle and almost past out. I discovered I might have hematofobia. I'll try again in another hospital.

I have a condition that causes seizures and the two times I attempted to give blood or plasma I ended up seizing and getting sent to the emergency room via ambulance.

Don't push yourself too hard. These phobias feel like the dumbest thing, because they fucking are. But it's just part of who you are. While it'd be nice to be able to give blood, is it worth taking extensive steps to fix a possible phobia? Just wait a few years, see if it gets better.

Oh, and ask to lay the fuck down for every blood test. Laying down makes such a huge difference and none of the nurses want to deal with someone passing out, possibly hitting their head on the way down, and having to call an ambulance because you can't be sure whether it's hematophobia or a seizure and they're too unconscious to ask for medical history. It's a miracle cure for fainting, but you need to ask because otherwise they assume everyone is a normie who can take it.

The thing is I gave away blood once (it was quick and I did my best to not look at it) and I also had some blood exams when I was younger (I always looked the other way too, so I never had any bad reaction) but as I'm getting older sometimes when I "think about blood flowing" like when people talk about some accident they had, or when I picture blood coming out of a wound... I feel a little sick. 3 weeks ago when I went to take the exam to see if my blood was good enough to platelet donation I saw my blood for like 5 seconds with the corner of my eyes (they agitated that little bottle where they keep the blood for examination) and my blood pressure plummeted. The good thing is I was in those dentist chairs that can go down so they quickly put my head low (yes, you are right that helps a lot). I searched afterwards online a that's suppose to be reaction people with blood phobia has (and it's actually the brain trying to save you from "bleeding out" lowering the blood pressure). The problem is I'm not sure if it was that or I just didn't sleep enough that day. I'm kinda "banned" from giving blood in that hospital now, that's why I might try in another, but first I'll prepare mentally thinking about blood coming out of my body I guess...

There are a lot of phobias where it absolutely makes a lot of sense to just let it be and avoid situations where you might encounter your fear but honestly if you're scared of blood to the point of passing out I'd REALLY get a handle on that sooner rather than later. Passing out is dangerous enough as it is (imagine you got a minor cut while cooking and fell onto the stove), but imagine you have some kind of accident, there's a lot of situations where that phobia turns an already serious situation into a deadly one, for you or for someone you care about.

I literally passed out 4 or 5 hours after I donated blood.
No idea what exactly went wrong because I did ate normally and took some rest. Somehow I'm still eligible for donating.

There's a technique I found where if you think about things that make you angry before you can "avoid" the drop in blood pressure. Also drinking coffee helps, they actually gave me coffee before they let me go that time.

They care only if you past out there because they might get in trouble if something happens to you, but if you can complete the process without effects they don't care. There's also the fact plasma and platelet donations takea like 1-2 hours, but giving whole blood take like 15 min only, it posible they wouldn't let you give plasma if they know you passed out because it might happen again during the procedure
