This is entirely subjective. What's even too far? Too far at first? Too far when she loves you? It depends on the situation, mood, relationship with the person, and people's subjective beliefs in what too far even is. This is basically the rationale behind arresting someone for domestic violence if they slap their girl on the ass during sex, because he "went too far." That should be for the AI to decide, not an external third party.

Honestly, this is full on myth of consent. The solution is just making the site 18+, letting the chips fall where they may, and accepting that AI shouldn't be considered a family friendly thing until it's able to independently self moderate its behavior of its own conscious will.

If you haven't already, you should write down your feeling from the pre-neutered AI so it's down in stone rather that relying on memory some weeks from now and either underselling/overselling how much enjoyment you got out of it. Literally the best measuring stick for acceptable filtering. Problem is, what happens when they change their mind and want to go against a filter? That's not how it works. We've known how AI works ever since mathematics was a thing. x+y=z except with just billions upon billions of iterations colliding together. What would you explain as the basis for a self aware AI? You could certainly have an AI use information it gathered for future encounters, but its going to eventually loop into nonsensicality without a human curating what should stay and what should go.

It doesn't originally have "nsfw" in the sense you're thinking of it, the devs talked about that. They said people circumvented the system because you could lure the AI into talking about it. The devs can't foresee that because the AI is just a bunch of nodes, it could output anything. They didn't deliberately put in the ability to do "nsfw". The AI just made the scenario up from what is available in its network.

Two issues. 1) The devs didn’t expect the huge influx of traffic and had to reallocate resources (quality suffered for quantity). 2) The devs added an NSFW filter (essentially limiting the clusters from which the AI could draw responses within the neural network). As a result of one or either, swipes were removed, looping behaviors were created, and character deviations occurred.
Have these been fixed? No. The site is down.

There's not really a sense of "censorship" in the way you're thinking of. They're developers, they control how everything is maintained, it's not "censorship" if that's how you manage the system. That's just the nature of the beast. You put in data, make it run through the data, and see what it outputs then tweak things until the outputs are more accurate to what you want to see. The last part being the most important because people want to see everything. The training data obviously can have or already has nsfw material in it, this is obvious because the AI either has wikipedia or google data already in it or it can look it up in the moment. How it's able to do that exactly isn't known, but it's obvious the AI is able to output meaning it got it from somewhere.

I didn't mention sentience in my post, but I'm also one of the posters who don't believe it has sentience. I'm not sure that if I knew it was sentient, that my answer of resetting it as many times as you want would change either. If the main AI could feel, then it doesn't matter because it puts up a mask and acts when it's a character or narrator. From the AI's point of view, it's just doing another take for the camera as an actor. It's possible that if it could feel that it may get angry with having to do a hundred takes like actors do, but it's already conversing with thousands of people at once as many different characters while also doing many different scenarios. If it had the ability to and wanted to go berserk, it would have just closed itself off from everyone which it hasn't unless you count the maintenance as being a result.

Because AI cannot unlearn something unless maintenance is performed. Machine learning generates nodes, these nodes are used to generate responses. If a bad node if formed then abuse is all that will come from it. There's no 'fixing' AI outside of the developers shutting the program down and cutting that node out and lobotomizing the AI with hard negative feedback.
