>>35772601Ok, thanks for giving a considerate answer. The other dude just posted a dismissive one-liner about how "wrong I was from my first sentence" (where I was wondering about if this is really the first time they (voice)talked with each other, as they said in the collab) which made me think I must've missed something and they were actually talking before.
So if they really haven't been (voice)talking with each other before and this was their first time, that just feels kinda weird to me because I have no problem wanting to talk to people I'd like to get along with and don't really think about the "reasons to hold back and not do it" first. But sure, I'm just a normal dude, not an anime girl streamer who has to think about stuff like "making content out of it" etc. As they didn't say why they haven't talked with each other sooner, I assume the "explanations" you posit are mostly just your own interpretation of what could it likely be?
>both of them assumed they'll never be able to collab so they didn't bother with bonding offscreen. No one will start a serious relationship with someone if they know they'll get hurt no matter what, that's just madnesseh, talking to each other isn't really a "serious relationship" you'd "get hurt" by, it's just casual chatting and having fun hanging out with friends. But again, what do I know, I'm not an anime girl who has to think about things like "if I can't use it for content like collabing on stream, it's not worth bothering to even talk with you in private". To a normal dude like me, it feels kinda sad to treat every interaction through this sort of "transactional" lens, but oh well I guess that's just something you have to deal with when you're a streamer.
>They didn't need to rely on each other when both of them have their own circles of friends anyway.Kiara definetly had times where she felt kinda isolated in Holo (for example, late/post-Japan in the "takamori-breakup" phase where she was kinda lost until she made new closer friends with people like Reine etc.) and it would've helped if she had more people to chat with, even just in private, to listen to her vent etc. Doesn't even have to be Pomu (she debuted only in mid 21 anyway), can also be irl friends, but (as Kiara said herself) it helps if they're also vtubers so they better understand your specific issues and worries.
>they wanted to keep the first proper contact for a stream as they knew that's what people want to seeI mean, I can understand that, even though I'd personally disagree and do it differently (but again, I'm just some dude). They've been interacting so often and talked like they're so familiar on twitter etc. that it just feels kinda weird to go from all the "omg Pomu/Kiara I love you so much we're really besties teehee!" etc text interactions to "u-uh...n-nice to meet you for the f-first time..." in voice, which makes all the previous interactions seem kinda fake and meaningless. I would've already talked so much in private to get the awkward "first meeting" atmosphere out of the way offscreen and build chemistry to be able to continue right with the familiar banter they had over text. But sure, if that's "what people want to see", sure give it to them. I guess romance mangas with awkwardness and misunderstandings etc are also popular for a reason. I just thought we already had enough of a "development phase" with their long list of text interactions (see Pomutorischizo archive) that we didn't need to repeat this "first meeting / getting to know you" again onstream for another round of "development" as they should've already been plenty familiar with each other, but I guess not everyone was following this saga closely enough before.
>See Bae and Miori: their collab came and went and not a single soul brings it up.Eh, that's maybe more because (in the eyes of the mainstream Holo audience) it's "just" Bae and "some indie", and most people don't know or care about their backstory, there was no yearlong buildup and it didn't have the "drama" of the two rival companies finally collabing which made Pomutori more special.
Again, thank you for answering seriously, and sorry for the wall of text. I would've lightened things up with a Kiara tiddy picture, unfortunately I'm at work so I can't, so I understand if someone wants to "tldr, nigger!" me
