>>36305136>Mori is still basically saying 'my motivation is getting the cheese and being a bragging popstar *is* what I want out of life' with that interpretation.that's the exact opposite of what that post was interpreting it as. If we try to expand upon it line by line using that interpretation then it would be something like:
>I'm just livin' life, true to myself all the wayMori got to where she was because she stayed true to what she wanted
>Good for me but not for ye, not today, not any other dayThe path that she took to get there was very specific to her and not something others should follow just to emulate her success
>Feel that bass? It's Made in JapanMori is acknowledging the root of her success was traveling all the way to Japan in an attempt to break into the niche Japanese rap scene
>Filterin' out the noise and always doing my bestMori is no longer denying her happiness by feeling bad about obtaining success and wants to continue reaching further.
Again, that is just an interpretation so I could see it from you're point of view too:
>I'm just livin' life, true to myself all the wayMori is being more true to herself by falling into what her greed has given her
>Good for me but not for ye, not today, not any other dayMori says that she is better than you and is bragging about it
>Feel that bass? It's Made in JapanMori is flaunting her connections to famous rapper JP the Wavy
>Filterin' out the noise and always doing my bestMori will not listen to criticism since she has gotten a taste of success.
I think both takes are valid but the second one is a lot more cynical and doesn't take in the thoughts Mori herself has shared in streams talking about the song's production or just outright ignores them in favor of the cynical point of view
